I have read about a new coaster rumor in IOA not to start any rumors or what-not
I'm going to IOA Friday and I have a VIP tour for Islands and I will ask to see if they hint towards anything
I forgot about Old Town's Skycoaster, but that's Kissimmee and not Orlando... does that make a difference?

Don't forget about the 300 foot sky coaster in orlando. Thats way over 200 feet tall.
Except that it's not in Orlando, it's in Kissimmee.
Correct me if I am wrong but doesn't MGM studios having a sky coaster over 200 feet tall I thought I read that somewhere. Or its just me.

I believe Orlando parks are limited to a 200ft building height. That's why nothing at those parks is taller than 199 feet.

Disney has different rules beacuse of its unique governing set up...
But as for everything else, there is construction over 200' in Orlando. The wand atop Spaceship Earth is over 200' thus the beacon light.
I think that they build over 200', its just that they must get a variance to do so. So they can pretty much build what they want as long as its under, and must get approval if its over.
...and such
The post above this one makes the most sense.

Look at the problems that wood coasters with 150-foot drops experience and you'll soon take back your comment about wood coasters with 300-foot drops! That's why Hades has some people worried...
I've said it before, but it's worth repeating. Colossos at Heide Park proves that it *is* possible to build a woodie bigger than 150ft without causing injury to the riders :)

I develop Superior Solitaire when not riding coasters.
Here is an old story about Orlando's City Center building and the problems with getting height approval from the FAA. They kept making them go lower and lower and as of that article took them from the initial proposal of 649 feet to 405 feet and it still wasn't a done deal.
I thought the parks had the same approval issues/problems.
BTW, did that City Center building ever get built. I couldn't find any info on it?

Yeah, thats because its made with prefabricated track ;). Intamin is the only company I know of that uses it on their wood coasters, and while it is a good idea, I think it ruins the wooden feel. Colossos is essentially a steel coaster made with wood ;).
But yeah most MAJOR theme parks like disney dont build over 200FT which is ok by me.
I think a theme raptor woodie would be a nice site for the triceratops encounter, not sure how much room they have, but if it went over camp jurassic that would be a cool effect and viewpoint over that section of the park.
