IOA

I'm going to Islands of Adveenture this weekend, where should I go first and is the park crowded?
Unfortunately yes, it will be crowded. Most of the state is on spring break. But, the park it well engineered and can handle it. All of the rides have excellent capacity. You will have an excellent time. As far as what to do first, I usually head for dueling dragons, but its not really the smartest thing to do, I am just drawn to it. If you get to the park when it opens, head right for Hulk and get a few rides in until the long lines start. If your lucky, they will open the singles line at some point in the day. Take advantage of it. IMHO it is the greatest thing ever invented. People were waiting over and hour for the front seat, and I got on the front seat in under two minutes. Have a great time.
I will be there on thursday, and I am hoping it will not be as crowed as the weekend.

I'd Rather Be Riding Rollercoasters
I am planning on going over the summer. It is the 2nd or 3rd week in June. If I go for one day, will it be possible to hit all the good attractions (Hulk, Spiderman, both Dragons, the Freefall ride, and whatever else is good) in that one day.
Absolutely. Any day you go, you will be able to hit all of the attractions, probably even twice. It's not that big of a park, yet;)

Eww, expect some nasty crowds!

Go to Hulk, Spiderman, Dr. Doom(great veiw of park), then instead of heading to Toon Lagoon go to Suess Landing, try Cat in the Hat and One Fish, Two Fish (both are really fun for kiddie rides) go up to Lost Continent, do Posidon's Fury then The Dragons (front seat is a must). On to Jurassic Park, do JPRA, then to Toon Lagoon for Dudley Do-Right and Popeye. Hey! Then you find yourself back at Hulk and Spiderman...decisions, decisions...;)
Yes, the above posters are correct. The kids are out of school this week for spring break, and you're going on the weekend.
Get to the park before it opens and get in line.
Most people agree that a clockwise walk thru the park is the best thing to do. That being to hit Hulk (do a front seat ride first, then a few more before the lines get big), Spiderman, Doom Drop. Petegon Flyers if you have a kid, if not, then you may get on before they start to enforce the kid rule.
Then Ripsaw Falls, you'll get a little bit wet, watch out for the water spash over when making a right turn after the first little drop. It comes over the left side of the boat and will drench the person in the front seat. The big drop will give you a water mist on your shirt, not that bad, you'll dry off.
Jurassic park is next, only a little splash at the bottom of the big hill, people in the middle barely get wet.
Deuling dragons next with front seat rides on each side, even if you wait 20 minutes, do it.
Popeye and Bluto's Ratt bardges opens at 11am, may open early with a full park. You will get Soaked on this ride. A change of cloths (including shoes/socks) is a good idea, stash them in the $5 locker at the front of the park. As you enter the park, go to the left. Have a $5 bill, it's all done with a computer touch screen.
After this, you can see Posiden's Fury and the show next to it. Then you can see the kid rides and do the whole thing again.
Oh, and I don't know why people take ponchos on Ratt Bardges, you're going to get soaked no matter what you do. A bathing suit is more like it, but you must have shoes and a shirt on to ride, no exceptions.

You'll have fun, just get to the park before it opens.
The correct strategy is to get in the gates and run to Spidey. You will be able to ride it 2 or 3 times without waiting. Then, walk over to Seuss country and proceed counterclockwise. You will have minimal waits until 12 or 1, when the crowd that is progressing clockwise meets you in the Jurrasic Park/Toon Lagoon area. Then you walk to the front and ride Hulk to your heart's content. You can spend the remainder of the day going clockwise, behins the mob that has now made it to the dragons.

I really do recommend hitting Spidey first. The dragons have a minimal wait all day long (so by running back there first thing, you don't really diminish your waiting time much), but Spidey's queue will get very full by late morning. Take advantage of the fact that *everyone* heads to Hulk first, and go straight to Spidey.

Trust me!
