It is by far the very best theme park in the world...at least that's my opinion. They may not have but more than a handfull of rides and attractions, but what they have are way above anything one could find at another park, with just a few exceptions.

-----------------

This park is one of my favorites! I think that it might even surpass Cedar Point, although I find CP a greater thrillpark rather than IOA, in terms of going to IOA, I say you should go without a doubt! The rides and the theming are absolutley incredable!

IOA is like Disneyland loaded with thrillrides! You probably say it doesn't have many rides because they only have three major thrilling roller coasters, if you count both dueling dragons. They specialize in indoor unique thrill rides. They have the most expensive ride ever made for Chrissake, and it's far more amazing than any roller coaster, IMO.

Once you set foot inside the park you just get this feeling like a kid in a candy store. Every little thing in that park is so themed and magical. You probably think this is like another Six Flags park with very few rollercoasters. But no, it's like you're in an entirely different world. It's just the ambiance, and the feeling you get in that park... Think of the time you first went to Disneyland and multiply it by ten! That's how good it is. Sure, it only has a few coasters, but they're some majorly thrilling ones. Their specialty is the "Disneyland effect", not the "Six Flags effect", if that helps.

If it's tourist season, why can't we shoot 'em?

Two summers ago my wife had to go to Orlando for 5 days for training. Being a teacher I had the summer off so I tagged along knowing that this would be a great time for me to hit some parks that I may only get to go to a few times in my life. Let me just tell you that IOA was the highlight of my trip. While I don't want to hype it too much because that just warrants a letdown, I don't think you will be disappointed. You really need a day in this park to admire the detail. It really is that amazing!

Also, on your way to or out of the park check out the cool restaurants in citywalk. Lots of stuff to do before you even enter the park. Jimmy Buffet's Margaritaville has some good eats and the Hard Rock Cafe is good for a show if you hit the park on the right day.

The rides are top notch. Period. Even the "bad"ones are good. There was not one thing in this park that I was disappointed in. Even the food was VERY good for a theme park. I think the key is to relax and enjoy your stay. If you rush through this park you will miss a lot. This is a Theme Park in every sense of the word. I live in a northern suburb or Columbus, Ohio and worked at Cedar Point in 1995 and 1996 and always thought that there would be no park that would rival "the point". While IOA definately has a different feel than CP it is just as good of a park and in some respects better.

After rou ride Dragons, Hulk, and Spiderman, make sure you stop and check out the great water rides which are some of the best. Look in every nook and cranny and you will find suprises.

Take your time, have fun, and enjoy, I am looking forward to your trip report.
