Dragon Khan and some other Inverted Coaster(Monte Mayhem..I think??) hold the record with 8 inversions. I think Viper at SFMM has the tallest loop.

I'm not sure if IntaminAGFan is right. I think Viper has the "tallest" loop, as in, a loop on stilts. I think that Batman: Krypton Coaster has the largest loop. But, I have a feeling that Volcano: The Blast Coaster has the tallest inversion at ~155 feet. Now you may all point out all that I have said wrong.

Dragon Khan, a standard looper by B&M, is the more conventional of the 2, with a Loop, a diving Loop, a Zero-g Roll, a cobra roll, another loop off the brakes, and a pair of interlocking corkscrews. A very good POV on it is available on "World's Greatest Rollercoaster Thrills" on VHS.

Monte Makaya, one of the few sitdown Intamin loopers, has a fairly unique layout. After a Loop, a Cobra Roll, and a double corkscrew, the ride engages a trio of in-line twists. 3 barrel rolls IN A ROW.

If you want a picture of this interesting ride, head over to http://www.intaminworldwide.com/intamin_amusement/fs_product.html and click on "Looping Coaster" to see the trains, the loop and part of the twist section.

I heard somewhere that Superman:KC's vertical loop is 160 feet, I could be wrong. I think that beats both Volcano and Viper.

According to one of this years ACEnews issues, Claude Mabillard himself stated some updated statistics at the opening date for S:KC. I believe one of them was said to be 160 feet. I believe it, although with a 175 foot lift, it will likely retain the record for SLOWEST apex of a loop. (that means hangtime)

By the way, for all you "but doesn't STEALTH have 8 inversions?" Lets do some quick math here.

First of all, most people don't even consider the first turn of Stealth, banked at 120 degrees, to be an inversion. After that, it has a loop, 2 corkscrews, and 4 half rollovers. Now whats an overbanked turn, 3 inversions and 4 halfs add up to? well 4 halfs would be 2, and that adds up to 5 inversions + an overbanked turn. I dont think so.

The Monte Makaya looks very impressive , screaming photos are on the Terra Encantada site . The only problem being Brazil . Is there anything remotely similar that is closer ? Also , I may be mistaken about this , but I remember something about a Schwartzkopf somewhere like North or Central America that has six or seven loops . If anyone knows this one , I need to know about it .

The tallest loops Im pretty sure are (not in any order) Chang, Mantis, and RR. Shockwave (SFGAm) has a loop "on stilts" that's around 160-165 feet.

Top 3:
1. Millenium Force
2. Raptor
3. Batman: the Ride

Mr. Inverted, check your info (all false) before you post it.

Volcano features a 155 foot immelmann. Viper at SFMM is the tallest arrow loop at 144 feet. The tallest B&M loop is Superman: Krypton Coaster, which is undefined, from 150-160 feet.

Tallest inversion: Millennium Force, 168 feet. ;)

Sorry... it still feels like a loop to me.

I think they should classify any turn/loop that goes past 100 degrees an inversion... Just my opinion.

But that is a whole other can of worms. I am surprised you brought it up, Jeff!

I don't think it is a loop, more like a cutback (Drachen Fire).

Yes and no. The overbanks on MF look like the cutback on DF, however, I think the cutback on DF actually turned you upside down (180 deg. banking) where MF doesn't. I guess that's my definition of an inversion, any element that orients you perpendicular to the ground. So where does Mantis's inclined loop fit in? There are exceptions to every rule :)

I agree with Jeff, sorta. Well, we could settle this whole tallest inversion thing with that.
