Interested in finding employment/internship information for research/marketing in the amusement/theme park industry.

Where can I find this information? I already went to the major parks(Universal, Busch Gardens, Six Flags and Cedar Fair) website. All they had were marketing research assistant at six flags Great Adventure and survey taker for Dorney Park. I live in brooklyn, ny and would like to do something in the northeast unless housing is involved. Which is something that dorney will help with.
Send resumes and cover letters to the parks and then follow up with phone calls. Great Adventure and SFDL are good places to start depending where you are in NY. When you call express your interest in the industry. Most internships end up being delivering surveys, stuffing letters, or in my case being placed in the Guest Services window handeling customer "comments" 50 hours a week at a certain west coast park. That was defined as a PR internship. My suggestion Great Adventure's research assistant, big park with a new manager where changes and oppurtunities might be available. *** Edited 1/21/2005 1:48:51 AM UTC by Commish***

Check your e-mail.

Disney does internships every semester, I'm currently there now.

To get to their "Advance" internships, you must complete the regular internship first, where you will just work as a regular employee.

Housing comes out of your paycheck, so there is housing provided, you just gotta pay for it.

no necessarily true. You can apply for the non-alumni advanced internships. Ask your campus rep about them or just email me for more info.

Why don't you check with IAPPA, a trade organization that represents the amusement industry? They might have opportunities that might be unadvertised elsewhere. *** Edited 1/22/2005 3:57:23 AM UTC by Intamin Fan***
