When did Intamin start using their new track design and what was the first coaster to use it? Also, how many are there today? I can think of six, but I am probably missing alot(3 S:ROS's, MF, Volcano, and Tornado(METRO) in Finland).

You also forgot the three impulse coasters - SUE, V2, and the yet unnamed version going into SFGAm.
I think Intamin's new track design is rather recent, with Darien's SROS being the first. I'm probably wrong.

Off the top of my head, S:UE at Six Flags Ohio comes to mind, along with the two new installations coming for '01.

The first with the Intamin box girder track was Volcano:TBC, as I recolect.

Actually, it was used in 1993 on Intamin's Lightning Bolt family roller coaster here in Las Vegas at MGM Grand Adventures Theme Park.

I know Schwarzkoph designed the Shockwave at SFoT, but I'm pretty sure Intamin built it. This ride has box/triangular track. If Intamin did build it, then they have been using box track since the late 1970's.

All I have to say is: I LOve iT! Quite honestly I believe it to be one of the greatest track innovation in quite some time. It's as sturdy as B&M and yet uses alot less steel like arrow. And the track guage is slim as paper, making you feel even more open!

yeah it's silk smooth and it is very narrow. Has Intamin made a bad coaster since S:ROS at Darien Lake? Their box track seems to make some of the best rides in our country

Schwarzkopf ends in an F... Just had to point that out as it is very frequently misspelled.
