Intamin Rocket Questionaire

1.Do you think that Intamin will continue using over-the-shoulder harnesses for all of their rockets? Yes.

2.In your opinion, should they continue? Yes, unless you like EJECTOR air time.

3.Do you think that they will ever have another rocket coaster that could possibly surpass Kingda Ka? If so, in what way? (i.e. height, speed, length, etc.)Yes, probably just height and speed.

4.How long do you suppose rockets will stay on the market? The larger rockets you won't see as many. I can see many rockets similar to Storm Runner being installed.

5.What's your favorite rocket? Rocket popsicles.

1. Yes, unfortunately. I prefer the lapbars..FREEDOM!

2. Should Intamin continue what?

3. Nope, I don't think so. Although they say three's a charm.

4. It depends on who wants to invest in them. I actually see Intamin creating more coasters like Storm Runner or Xcelerator. Being the "tallest and fastest" isn't exactly going in their favor now is it?

5. TTD silly! :-)

1. No.

2. No.

3. Yes. Intamin has stated that their hydraulic launch system could achieve 200 mph. It's just a matter of time.

4. Rockets are still "prototypical" in my opinion, especially as far as the launching system goes. I noticed that some improvements have been made to TTD's launching system from two years ago. So I think rocket coasters will do good in the future.

5. TTD, but SR is a close, and I mean close, second.

Does anyone think we will see some variations on the rocket coaster, e.g. suspended rocket coaster, etc.?

Why is it that the impulses never really caught on? I mean they had some very essential elements - 90 degree drops, high speeds, inverted seating. Would it have been more popular if it had been taller, or if it were like the RCT2's Impulse called Circulator?

Probably the low capacity, but I could see Intamin going with four-abreast Beemer style seats on Impulses. That would be kick ass.

But the low capacity shouldn't change the view of the GP, right?

I think a fast moving line is more appealing to the GP than a slow moving line. Sure the GP is stupid, but they're not rocks.

Why do you think that the General Public are stupid? We were all there once. Ignorant of many of the usless information we posses maybe. But stupid? Not hardly. Most people have the ability to alliterate what they do and do not like, regardless of being an enthusiast or not.

That's not what I said, although I can understand how you percieved (sp?) that. The GP are not gonna say - this ride is low capacity, they're gonna comment on the long line. But generally, as one can see from the many TRs posted on this website, enthusiasts AND the GP are willing the wait 1+ hours to go on rides like TTD, BTR, KK, and SUF (just to name a few). I don't understand why those same desires to don't translate to the impulses. As I've said before, they maintain a lot of potential appeal to many people. *** Edited 8/13/2005 7:53:08 PM UTC by coasterMNguy...***
