Intamin Restraints

Seeing as how a lot of discussion revolves around lap bars and seat belts and people now not being able to fit who once were able to ride...

I was wondering for those of you that have had the chance to ride Storm Runner and Kingda Ka, are the new style OTSR's the way of the future? Are they more accomodating that the current lap bar seat belt collaboration or do the same number of people get turned away? *** Edited 6/8/2005 7:33:00 PM UTC by haiderodes***

Having ridden all 4 US rockets, I can say I didn't really care either way. My friend on the other hand, got consistantly jacked back SR on the final turns going into the brake run. I don't think I've heard about anyone having trouble on KK's twist.

Are they the wave of the future? No - creating lap bars that actually keep a rider in the seat is the wave of the future (or for B&M, the present).

Just because Intamin refuses to read Dave's treatises on rider position and safe restraints doesn't mean OTHER companies don't, or can't, or haven't.

Anton safely kept riders in with lapbars only for MANY years, long before Intamin started throwing riders out of trains...
