Intamin over B&M?

I'm not huge on these types of threads, but must say that doing sommething Innovative and doing something well are two seperate things. I'm not saying that I haven't enjoyed Intamin rides, but the big thing is that I don't remember major incidents involing any of B & M rides and have always found them to be reliable.

Intamin has had some major problems with some openings going back to Volcano. It also can't be good for your company when concerns about some of your safety devices, possible structural problems not letting a ride run as strong as originally designed (could be butchering this statement sorry if I did with WT), and nothing like the designed launch not being sure to make it over the top (not saying I wouldn't like to experience it).

Anyway, hopefully B & M will be able to apply their technology to new ideas that should provide a lot of funs with much less headache.

My opinion is that with Intamin's willingness to provide parks with new, more innovative ideas at a reasonable price, they are advancing the coaster industry technologically much faster than B&M is.

So the way I look at it is that Intamin, at their own cost in risk taking and a potentially bad reputation, is benefiting the industry more.

I wouldn't say that either manufacturer is better than the other, but it is which park is willing to spend the big bucks.

A park is going to go to all the manufacturers and have them outbid each other to get the best value for the best ride. It is all in the cost.
