Intamin Inverts

Has anyone been on any of the Intamin Inverts not Including Impulses ?

I am Thinking Like the Volcano, And Tornado.

Are thet smooth, Fast, and are the Lifts loud like there Hypers are ? Or are they like the B&M Lifts?

And is the trian loud when it is flying through the ride at its top speed, Does it have the roar Kinda like Millennium Force does ?

Volcano didn't impress me very much. I found it to be WAY too short, and I just didn't see the intensity that others say is there. A great opening act to be sure, but IMHO, I would have much rather seen it as a shuttle, with continued vertical track instead of the curl-over.

Volcano was fun, but was really short.  It was fast and all, the second launch was great, but the 'rolls' weren't all the great.  They didn't make me feel weightless at all.  More like my head was a magnet for the ground.  But yes, it was very smooth and there isn't a lift on it.  So I guess I'm exempt from that. :-)

Volcano is a blast, pun very much intended, I thought the ride could have been longer and have a more interesting lay-out, but since it was the first it is okay.

That thing (V:TBC) had ENORMOUS potential the way I see it.  Imagine a nice tight 540 upwards to burn off the speed of the first launch, maybe add in a hidden vertical loop, then the train is slowed down.  Into the Volcano you have a chance to see the walls, painted in red, orange and yellow flames/lava effects.  The second launch kicks, past fans blowing those plastic flames from the fake fireplaces around.  Up and out of the volcano.  On the way down, animatronic boulders are seen "rolling" towards the train.  Add in some boiling calderas with smoke, a few small boiling lavapots, a few small smoking ponds.  You'd have as many people watching the coaster as riding it...and that's good for business.

Uh... Intamin hypers have self-raising anti-rollbacks, so why would the lift be loud? B&M's have extremely loud lifts. Did you just get those 2 mixed up?

Hi! I'm Hungry, whats your name?

Volcano is on my Top 5 list because of its launch.  I couldn't believe it.  I love Joker's Jinx and Flight of Fear (I know they're are the same).  I can't wait to go back and ride Hypersonic.  Volcano could've been longer but after the 90 degree turn slowly out of the station and then the force of the launch, and then the turn-around, and then the second launch, I couldn't believe that feeling.  I really did like this ride.

TOP 5
1. Alpengeist, 2. Magnum XL-200, 3. Superman: Ride of Steel (SFNE), 4. Volcano: The Blast Coaster, 5. Apollo's Chariot
Close Calls 1. Grizzly (PKD), 2. Batwing, 3. Montu
Volcano is short, but in a good way kinda like a shuttle is good. Both launches sound as good as they feel. You get to zip around a few things, & the spins feel like you're going to fall out. Riding at night is especially nice. I could see being there on a weekend or busy day how lines could be crazy for it. Even though lines were short, we were waiting & sitting more than we were moving.
i'd have to agree with TrBiggar. not that it's a big deal, but the intamin lifts i've been on (S:ROS) have been silent.

B&M lifts are much hulkier and seemingly noisier. of course, this makes it much more scary. i think Superman is a better ride, but Nitro and AC are much scarier going up the lift.

Look on RCDB at the pics of their regular inverts.  They are sharp, using their box and triangle style track.

And for the life of me, I dont understand why you so-called enthusiasts think this is a *good* thing. Personally, I hated it. I would have been quite content to get off after the flip out.

The front seat though was nice (I *still* didnt like the rolls).

Let me say that Volcano is the best steel coaster I have ever been on. I don't care if it's short because it delivered what I had hoped it would: one insane ride. Extremely smooth, extremely fast, and extremely comfortable. If only Knott's was getting something similar...
Does anyone know hom much the Tornado cost ? or Volcano ?
Tornado at Särkänniemi did cost about $8 million.
the thing that is so great about this ride is the feel of it all.  first off, the theming is excellent.....some of paramount's best theming i have seen yet.  the "volcano" where this ride is located was previously home to some family oriented rides.  they were able to take this location and create an incredibly well themed queue area.  as for the ride itself, the launches are what make the ride.....yes it is short but keep in mind how many intamin inverts are there again???????  the concept and execution are excellent......both the first and the second launch are incredibly intense.  i feel that this is the best coaster that pkd has to offer.  it's the third best coaster in virginia in my opinion only behind apollo's chariot and the ever popular algengeist.  that is quite a class to be in.
