Cosmo's World, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
I had a day of sightseeing in Kuala Lumpur and hadn't even really thought about looking up any coasters, until some friends I was with said they found a pretty fun coaster in a mall not to far from where we were staying. That was all it took and I was off to get a ride. About a 10 minute walk from my hotel and I found Times Sqaure mall complex in Malaysia...this place was huge. I walked in and saw like ten stories of mall walkways and found out the amusement park (Cosmo's World) is hidden back away on the 5th through 7th floors.
We got an all day ride pass for about $13. Not bad. Then we were off to find the entrance to Supersonic Odyssey (the only coaster in the park). Finally found it up on the seventh floor and walked right on. Hardly anyone was in the park. Got the front row and headed out. The coaster starts out with a nice turn to the right and back to the left and and inline twist before the lift. It reminded me of the "JoJo" roll right out of the station on Hydra the Revenge at Dorney Park. This had you hanging in your restraints.
Then the coaster meandered around the park for a bit and then we got to the lift. It went all the way up to the rafters and took a short dive to the left and pulled a nice u-turn element. Next was a hard right dive into a beautiful intamin loop that circled a walkway. Then we shot up into the kiddie area of the park and into a smooth corkscrew. We did another turn around and popped up into the brakes. We got a couple of more rides on it, but since the ops running the ride would keep waiting for more people to ride....it took about 15 minutes between each dispatch, we decided to try a few other rides.
We did the bumper cars. Longest cycle I have ever had. What a blast. We did their ride called DNA Mixer. That thing squished me like a pancake and threw us all around for a good 5 minutes. I was glad to get off that one. I didn't know whether I should laugh or cry.
It isn't a huge park but for $13 I had a great time and the coaster was a lot of fun. It fits into the park well and is easily their star attraction.
