Intamin Impulse - With a third TwiST

What if Intamin made an impulse with a boomerang kinda' feel? For example, the train would shoot out of the station LIM launched, and go into the first vertical twisting spike. Then, it would go back through the station and into a big cobra roll. Then it would go through a loop and another set of LIM's. From there, it would launch into the second spike , vertically straight or vertically twisted. And the good thing is, the ride could cycle a whole lot...like 2-3 times! I think it would be kinda fun but maybe only one cycle because the layout could get boring. The elements could also be changed, and instead of being launched out of the station into the first spike, it could be launched into the big cobra roll. I think it would be a fun ride, and really thrilling if the elements are good for the ride.

Kind of like a V2/Deja Vu hybrid, but without the cable lift problems. Sounds like a great idea to me. With all the advances in technology the past few years, I imagine this sort of shuttle coaster would be possible, provided that a park or ride manufacturer was interested in creating it.

All it would need would be some sort of extra loading platform to increase capacity (like Mr. Freeze) and I imagine it would be quite marketable.

What happens if the LIMs stop halfway through? Then it could go through the cobra roll and valley in between the cobra roll and the next element. And it would be deja vu like Deja Vu.
Well, have the LIM's stopped on an Impulse? THAT my friends is when an Impulse vallies. I know about the capacity issue though. The double station would be pretty nifty, and I could work. What about a triple loading platform though...???

All you need is for the power to go off and it will shut off the LIMs...

Hmmm... there's a neat idea. Emergency generator anyone?

The only way LIMs stop, is power outage, or over heating, and for the capacity, the LIMs must wait a minute to cool...so I dunno about the capacity it realy wouldnt matter how many trians, you would just start stacking them...

Stop the lawyers, not the rides!

RememberIdora, did you just suggest putting multiple trains on a shuttle coaster?

Duh, remember V2 at SFGAM's Super LIM's?

I still say that an Impulse version of the classic Schwarzkopf shuttle loop would be a great concept to explore!
Hangover in Sweden was originally a LIM/LSM. Read more at the link.

TOGO!
SOOperGIR, is that why last time I was there it overheated and broke down while I was in line, less than 20 minutes after it reopened from a breakdown? I think this super-lim stuff is a fallacy, I just did a Google search for 'super linear induction motor' and nothing came up. Whoever started that weird little rumor about SFGAm's V2 having them is full of it.

Hey Soopergirl, you shouldn't give out the stick secret so much! Someone might catch on ;)

The only way I could see a triple-twist would be putting a roll behind the station, but that would start to hurt and introduce perhaps a little too much spinning - going through that roll, then vertical and then spinning again... I know thats getting upwards of too many spin directions for me! (which is why I don't really like flats ... )

Ok. You guys take stuff waaaaaaaaaay too seriously. lol. I didn't mean an actual "third" spike, I jus meant having the loops and stuff on the ride. Sorry if anybody was being saracastic, I don't think I'm catching on...once again...;)

sorry that would not be possabile at all, the trains on an impulse are designed to travel in a straight line and 'twist' around the center. the train cannont take any sort of turn needed to do a cobra roll or loop, and if you redesigned the trians you would just have a SLC
djhush, Intamin Impulse trains are no different then those on other Intamin Inverts such as Volcano or Tornado. They can easily move any direction you would want them too.

I may be mistaken, but that sure looks like an Intamin inverted cobra roll to me.

And is it just me, or is that a vertical loop?

TOGO!

Well I guess that is proof that it would work. Why don't they tear down DV and put one of these in place at SFGaM?
Don't let Vekoma, B&M, or Intamin get ahold of this...... ;) CBuzz shal start its own coaster company!
