intamin hyper/Gigga constuction in japan

Are they building a sailing ship or a coaster? J/k. Looks gnarly.

What an odd lift structure. It looks like a bunch of sailboat masts. Does anyone know if Intamin is building the ferris wheel as well?

I agree with Jeff that is a VERY strange lift hill. Anyone know how high the winds get in this City? It seems like it is meant to be high wind structure maybe for some typhoons or something? A ton of tension cables making it stable.

Well, a lot of it looked like temporary scaffolding, but I'm not sure. If you take a look at the close up (last one) you can see a guy walking out on the beam!

Remember, Japan is in a midle of an earthquake zone so the supports may have been design with this in mind. Wonder if we'll see those stairs beside the track like almost all other coasters in Japan.
I saw a really nice scale model of the whole area when I was there about a year ago. It looks like a GREAT area, and a nice addition to an already fun park. Gotta get back there! :)

Thats one weird looking ferris wheel. It looks like a loop from an old Arrow Coaster. The lift sure is goofy lookin'.

Look how it's built into the side of that huge building, pretty unique!

I was wondering when someone else would remember this coaster. It looks like it would be fun. The part on top of the building lokks awsome. It looks like the floater hills usually at the end will be in the middle but on top of the building. The ferris wheel still looks wierd, though.

Look at the track below the lift. See that small bunny hop? See the height the coaster will drop off/climb after/before that bunny hop? You're probably going to get major air there. Thse support structure is really cool, but I think the coolest is that section on the side of the building.

Blast coaster: non-contiuous track coasters dont count as anything in record breakers.

people say steel dragon is the tallest roller coaster. what about superman.
people say magunm was the first coaster over 200 feet. what about moonsault scramble.

same when MF came out people said it was the fastest, but what about superman.
i agree with the whole contiuous track arguement. i say steel dragon is the tallest too.
so deja vu doesnt really count

When you mention coaster most people consider it to be a ride with a lift and or layout with twists turns and a drop. I myself consider superman the escape a thrill ride.

What a sweet ride! That wheel really has some intamin touches. I bet it is intamin. There is probably something on the official website for the park. Japanese is not a forte for me.

Well, take a look at the track...saying it's an "probably an Intamin" is hardly taking a leap.

He was talking about the Ferris Wheel....Doesn't really have track.

Technically toboggan coasters have the steepest lifthill.

What is it with these Japan parks making coasters slightly more in height, etc. MF's lift is 45 degrees, Japan makes a lifthill that is 45.5. MF is 310 ft tall. SD2K is 318ft.

Six Flags, the only chain of parks that can manage to have stacking with a one train operation.

Oh, that makes much more sense. :-)

And yes, that's probably Intamin as well. That parks looks like an Intamin haven (giant drop, impulse, hypercoaster).

Looks great, can't wait. ;-)

Sounds like an expensive one!

What's up with Intamin saying they got the title of the coaster with the most inversions with Monte Mayaka? (8 loopers). I mean, Dragon Khan got 8 inversions and its opened in 1995! They merely tied it.
Not sure what that has to do with anything, but they do have the coaster with the most inversions at Thorpe Park.
