Installing Downloaded Parks

Hi everyone! I'm new to RCT3 and I've tried downloading a few parks from Coasterimage.com to get a good feel for customized parks. All of the files I downloaded were .dat files when I unzipped them. I found some instructions online that directed me to copy those files to \My Documents\RCT3\Parks. However when I attempt to laod the parks in RTC3 I only get a vacant site with no scenery at all.

Am I missing something? Can someone tell me what i'm doing wrong please or what else I would need to get these parks to work? Thanks for the help.

Hi thanks for replying. So far I've tried Escape from Atlantis, Mountain Magic, SFOG Goliath, Sonic Blast & Unfinished Park #3 by Lord Gonchar (I'm assuming that's your creation :-))

All of those were just single .dat files when I unzipped the downloads and I placed them all under the \My Documents\RCT3\Parks folder. Could it be my RCT3 installation? Should I try re-installing?

Hello, I'm a "n00b" to roller coaster tycoon 3 (I havent even played the other two). Excuse my ignorance but how do I download saved tracks/parks to my game? I have the gold edition which includes soaked. I tried downloading a couple tracks off of coasterbuzz games (which happened to be made by Mr. Gonchar). I have winRAR and unzipped the files but nothing happened except my media player opened up with the file. Sorry but can someone give me the run down in detail how to load these tracks/parks onto my game?

Step 1: Read your manual. It tells you exactly where to put your files.

There, wasn't that easy?

1. Download the file

2. Double click on the zip file you down loaded (XP automatically unzips files)

3. Depending on the file type (Coaster, Scenario, Park) put the unzipped file into the correct folder under My Documents/RCT3

Parks (.dat file) go into - My Documents/RCT3/Parks
Coasters (.trk file) go into - My Documents/RCT3/Coasters
Scenarios (.dat file) go into - My Documents/RCT3/Scenarios

4. It should work from there.

Anything beyond that becomes something you guys need to figure out.
