Inside Edition rides Tatsu and gets its facts all wrong

According to tonight's episode of "Inside Edition," Tatsu is the biggest, tallest coaster in the world. Ok. They showed the reporter riding and she said it opens on Saturday. Doesn't anyone fact check this stuff?
No, because no one cares.
Did you call the show and tell them you're an ACE member? How about flashing your membership card?
Wow, you're happy Impulse-ive aren't you.
See my private message Impulse-ive. I like how he assumed that I belonged to ACE (I don't).

The only reason I find stuff like that troubling is it makes me wonder what else the folks are getting wrong on TV. Not that I expect anything especially factual from Inside Edition but it just makes you wonder about what they're getting wrong when it comes to harder news stories.

I believe she also claimed she was 263 ft. high when she was at the top of lift which isn't exactly what she meant, I don't think. But whateva.

Before I look at it, cause I probably know what's in there, it was a whole lot less about you and a whole lot more about an opportunity to make a reference that I know some will find *highly* amusing.

You've been around here long enough to know I'm a sarcastic prick on this board, come on ...

Not to get this too off topic (ok, maybe it is) but was there someone here who actually flashed their ACE card at someone?
Ok, so that's 1 1/2 who got it, anyone else? ;)

It does open on Saturday.

Media day is today, passholder previews are tommorow, and the ride opens to the public on Saturday.

The reason why it was reported as "the tallest and fastest coaster in the world" is because Paul Reuben was being interviewed live and that statement came out of his mouth -- then when he was asked afterwards, "Isn't the Kingda Ka the tallest and fastest roller coaster in the world?" He immediately responded, "Tatsu is the tallest and fastest of the Flying coasters."

What a toolbox.

Hahah...I get it too. I got a good laugh remembering that story from a little while ago.

"Man, it was like a bust." LOL! Great reference, Impulse-ive. Add me to the list of people who picked up on that.

Oh, kRaXLeRidAh, did Reuben say if it was the best ride ever?

Impuls-ive, unfortunately I didn't know you were being sarcastic. There's a lot of members names to keep track of on here, and so I didn't remember you as the sarcastic prick, but anyway...

When we did the Batwing media preview, every member of the press got a press kit. I would assume that kit included all the facts of the ride so they get it right. All the producer (or the reporter) of the segment for Tatsu would've had to do was actually read their press kit to establish that it's the world's tallest "flying" coaster. Obviously, the very short segment showed the reproter riding a flying coaster, but they kept teasing it as the world's tallest, fastest (?) coaster without showing it.

When my sister told me that Inside Edition was featuring the world's tallest coaster, I'm thinking "Is there something I missed this year?":)

Ha... that was a good thread, and the first time I learned about ARNR. Good times, good times.

Pretty much everything.

You don't read Fark much, do you :)

Or watch The Daily Show, or anything else that makes fun of how broken the news media is...

I remembered that too... lol

I am off to search for that original thread. SO I can laugh at it again.

(also to remember why I never renewed my ACE membership)

Guess who's back? Back Again? James K's back. Tell a friend.

Honestly, not everyone in ACE is "bad" (my best friend belongs). But there are the stereotypes of the grumpy, everything thing is wrong mentality, overweight, has way too many patches, "I'm owed ERT with the brakes off", knows every single statistic etc., etc. that are unfortunately true sometimes.
*raises hand*

i remember quite well and i chuckled :)

I remember...but I don't think it's funny at all. You shouldn't have such a terrible sense of humor, Impulse-ive. You know, ACEers are people too you know. Sheesh, I am appalled. ;)
