Inerstate directions help to Dorney

I'm from Minnesota, I have been to Cedar Point and Cleveland, Ohio. I dont know the eastcoast fairly well I haven't been past Cleveland. Whats the best way to get to Dorney Park from Cedar Point can I stay on I-80 Ohio Turnpike all the way. I will be visiting Dorney, Hershey, Knoebles and Lakemont Park at the end of August any help would be great. Whats the best hotel to stay in between Dorney & Hershey?

From CP to Dorney you're looking at about a 7-8 hour ride. You can take I-80 all the way out to eastern pa(I think it's one of the pocono exits) where you can pick up the pa turnpike south. You'll drive about an hour from there to allentown. Dorney isn't far off the allentown exit, just follow the signs at the turnpike toll both. There aren't too many hotels between hershey and dorney but since they're only an hour apart you might want to consider staying in allentown or hershey.

I'm not that familiar with western PA but, Altoona seems to be the 'furthest-out-of-your-way'. Rt 80 is probably your best bet from OH to Knoebel's (Rt 54 S). And probably from Dorney back to OH. Between Hershey and Dorney I would definetly take Rt 78.
I'm not too sure about a specific hotel between Dorney & Hershey but I'm sure there are some on RT 78.
Your best bet would be to get on the Pa Turnpike. Lakemount is right off the TP at the Altoona exit, Hershey is about 10 Mins from the Harrisburg exit and from the Harrisburg exit dorney and Knoebels are each like 1 to 1.5 hrs away. to get to dorney go 81 N to 78 E to the Cedar Crest Blvd Exit. and for Knoebels go 81 N to the Minersville exit.
Thanks for the help, since drive from Cedar Point is 7-8 hours what time do you think I should leave? When I went to the point I left 9:30pm MN time and got to Sandusky around 10:30am. Should I leave about 4 hours earlier just because its and 7 hour extra from CP I would like to drive at night less traffic which I found to be faster. I will be there for a full week so driving shouldnt be a problem.

I've driven to cp from hazleton,pa twice last year and it took me almost six hours exactly. Traffic shouldn't be a problem on 80 day or night because there aren't too many cities along the way. I would probably prefer to make that run during the day because the drive from cleveland to the eastern part of pa is boring as hell. The only thing is that driving in pa sucks cuz there is construction everywhere. You might want to check out the status of it at http://www.dot.state.pa.us/
