How many of you would like to see more indoor parks at big malls. Example Mall Of America in Bloomington, Minnesota has one called Camp Snoopy which is operated by Cedar Fair. Will we see any more indoor parks? This means having a year round operated park also. Any inputs?

I love the concept but it doesnt seem to be a long term investment. Old Chicago in Bolingbrook(Just outside of Chicago) was one of the first indoor amusement parks. For some reason it eventually became a bad investment and eventually closed. I remember visiting when I was young and enjoyed it. They had 2 coasters in the building. An Arrow looper and a Mouse coaster. I dont know why they dont flourish but I guess the majority dont see a big deal in this.

Chitowns 6 year old daughter says "Daddy, Dippin Dots are nasty!!" I must say that I agree!!
Actually i think location has something to do with these indoor parks as The Adventuredome in Vegas is very successful and is one of the top attended parks in the world according to AB. As a result Circus Circus is the most profitable resort on the Las Vegas Strip.

An issue of ACE's Rollercoaster! magazine had some pictures of a mall in Korea that had a pipeline coaster in it. It looked cool, but it doesn't run anymore. The supports are hooked directly to the walls and ceiling of the mall, and it was making the mall structurally unsound.
:(
One of Old Chicago's big problems was noise. The reverbarations from the rides and the riders as I understand it were nearly deafening. Nobody shopped there, stores closed and then, el foldo.
Also a couple more of Old Chicago problems were that they had no anchor stores and the mall was full of a lot of specialty store. Also the park part didn't have much for natural light like Mall of America and it made the park kinda dark and dreary.
On a another note our indoor amusement park at mall near me just closed. It wasn't very old maybe 5-7 years old. They closed it and now are going to put in a Barnes and Noble and a food court which kinda sucks.
There should Definetly Be one at Concord Mills (the biggest mall in the country I think!)

Mall of Americas is the biggest by far, they should put one in Aventura Mall, Sawgrass Mills, or at Dolphin Mall(which I'm pretty sure there doing0).

Where'd you come from, Where'd you go, Where'd you come from old man Joe.
Um, The Largest Mall in the world has an Indoor theme park. It has 2 coasters, the Mindbender and a kiddie one. It is the West Edmonton(sp?) Mall in Canada. The place also has a Ice Rink, Hotel, Waterpark, Lake, Golf Course, Burbon Street, and More!
I doubt we will see many more indoor theme parks, because not many huge malls are being built these days...

They should have put a coaster at Ontario Mills :). I think the Edmonton mall is a great idea, because it gives the kids up there something to do during a snow storm. That mall is incredible.

There are rumours of an indoor park being built with the expansion of Carousel Center in Syracuse, NY. When it is built it is supposed to be the biggest mall in the US but the other rumor is Mall of America is planning another expansion also.
MetroLand is an indoor park in the Metro Centre in Gateshead (I think) Newcastle, UK.
I went there years ago, then, it only had one coaster the "Highway Express" or something like that and it was built up in to roof nd did a lot of swooping, heelixes and right at the end, as you caost into the station there were these three consecutive bunny hops that gave the most pleasurable air-time. It was one of the first coasters I ever went on as a child.
For all of you that say that parks in malls are failures, maybe your malls just need better management? MetroLand has been successful for years and years, and is still going strong (as far as I know).
As you wander round the shops nears the park hearing the thunder of the coaster rush past makes you want to go on it!
