In December 2000 a court order was signed to auction off the land owned be Entercitement LLC.
Developers were 12 million dollars in debt and creditors were vying to be the first to claim the proceeds.
The developer had planned to open a 510 acre water and amusement park featuring Garfield, the cat. The park was to have been located on the SE corner of I-70 and SR 39. This location is roughly 20 miles West of I-465, near Indianapolis.
All of this comes after 6 years of attempts to raise the $150 million to build the park and two false starts at construction. No work had been done at the park since 1998.
Hope this helps
OBTW, the Indy Zoo is building a coaster, Kombo. It's a medium size Tivoli coaster with a long train. And of course Indiana Beach is building Cornball Express. So, we will have two new coasters in Indiana this year.
