^^I'll 3rd that motion on Afterburner being Indiana's best steel coaster!! (that is, until HW gets that Euro-fighter!!)
But a friend of mine who lives in LaGrange said she heard talk of emphasizing more of the zoo and creating a water park! So maybe a re-vamping is underway...
I heard that owners WERE looking to closeup after this season, but then had a change of heart, so it's looking more like they will be open next year. The park is basically a hobby for the owners and not a money-maker so if they aren't having fun with it, they won't be continuing it.

I heard the same thing. :)
Which is exactly why we made a point to stop by this year.
How can you go wrong with a park that features horseshoe pits?
I wouldn't mind going back for yet another visit...flyers even *I* can snap... :)
Would it make sense to try and add Paige's Crossing and Fun Spot to the IB/MiA event (SpringCon '08)? If ACE wants to show support for the smaller parks, this seems ideal...
^^^ It'd be nice if they did. A good thing about ACE is that they're known for adding small parks to conferences, even ones that don't have large coasters or even coasters at all. It would be a good way to show support for the little guys. Ironically, not too long ago, Indiana was comprised entirely of small parks that ACE would have acknowledged!
I was there late August and they said they plan to open the whole park next year. It was tentative in only keeping the animal rescue center going and ending the amusement.
The flyer tubs are Lesourdsviiles, The Structure is from Fantasy Farm (Next door neighbors closing ten years apart.
The Calyso is alsy Lesourdsvilles, They've fixed the turntable mechanisms but it runs far slower than it did in it's prime.
Chuck, who just happend to show up on a day that THE FLYERS WERE CLOSED due to wind (With no wind in the air) LOL
I must be lucky. I rode the Flyers back in July and they are nuts with LeSourdesville's tubs and it is absolutely insane! Not only was able to snap, but I snapped my tub... facing backwards! After that ride I had to stop for fear of my life.
Hopefully we won't be seeing the last of Fun Spot. I enjoyed that park and so did my 18 month old son. He had a blast riding rides with the exception of smacking his head in the glass house. That loud *BOOM* was priceless!
I think they throw that out there everytime a person with a coaster shirt shows up :) Rode em last year several times after the tub change. Yeah, NUTS! Expecially when you can get two spots of no tub in front of you.
Chuck, who ironically enough, The scarriest flyer ride I ever took was on HOLIDAY WORLDS when I burried the tub in the tree by the restrooms not only forward but backward. 2001 Golden Ticket day.
