Indiana Beach to Holiday World

About how long does it take now a days to get from Indiana Beach to Holiday World via 231 and other routes? Is this way better than taking interstates?

Yeah, Don't follow mapquest! Sent me in three wrong directions on my trip through PA and about a 80 mile out of the way to MIA in 2002.

Take I-65 south to lousiville and then hit I-64 west about 60 miles to Holiday WOrld.

Thats what we did on SRM weekend. Took about 4hrs.

It's actually quite a bit longer milage wise to take the Interstate, but it is easier to navigate and is about the same time wise considering the speeds you can travel.

I personally like the back roads route, but I would advise getting a good map or Microsoft Streets and Trips before you try it.

Either way, a little more than 4 hours.

It's gonna take you 4 hours either way...the 231 route is very pretty though, and the time goes quickly. Just keep your eyes open, especially through Lafeyette and you'll be fine.

I would also advise you to take the interstate. It's boring, but much more straight-forward.

another thing, Southwest indiana is ROADKILL CENTRAL taking the highway may give you some room to miss it.
