I went to IB and absolutely loved it. Cornball Express is my second favorite woodie (between Boulderdash #1 and Shivering Timbers #3). I'm still in shock of how such a small looking coaster could provide such unbelieveable airtime. I was constantly thrown into the buzzbar. I'm not that big at all. The coaster is amazing.
Hoosier Hurricane I wasn't too impressed. I felt like one or two airtime moments. I rode it in the afternoon, I guess between 3-5 PM. Since the other people I was with wasn't too impressed either, we stuck to Cornball Express.
Tig'rr Coaster was alot of fun. I enjoyed it very much!
Lost Coaster of Superstition Mountain was one crazy coaster. I think I only got ride it once and it was forwards. I was thrown all over and was SOOO much fun! That is one screwed up ride!
Galaxi had some nice airtime in the back seat. I constantly felt like I was going to hit the things above the track!
Double Shot at IB = Best Launch Tower EVER. I flew out of my seat like so much. The second time we so much ejector, it was heaven! BEST LAUNCH TOWER EVER!
I LOVE INDIANA BEACH! The park is just fantastic! The whole setting is very retro and I loved it. Such a great park and if you pass it up, you'll definately miss out. I think we left around 8 PM because we were headed to Holiday World but I would've loved to ride Cornball more, besides the 15 plus rides I got on it. We went on a Saturday.
Goto Indiana Beach, you will not regret EVER going. *huggles Cornball Express* Sorry to those who didn't get my sarcasm, I guess it was just too good! ;) *** Edited 4/10/2004 5:01:05 AM UTC by RCTfan***
IB is a great park. Only been there once (from Chicago so I should slap myself silly), but I will return. The boardwalk atmosphere is second to none.
My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.
I gotta get back for a ride on LoCoSuMo (co. Mooshpress, all rights reserved).
My Beautiful wife, Julia, is the best thing that has ever happened to me!
20 years later, I still go to I.B. and the park has just got better and better over the years. I still make the yearly Memorial Day trip with my family, but instead of spending the day with my family I find myself spending the day with Cornball Express. :)
"What's the secret with the band? I've seen it a million times and never noticed anything strange, lol."
The first time the band comes into view you're up high and pass a balcony. Have you ever stepped out to the end of the balcony to get a view of the entire chamber the band plays in? If not, you're missing something amazing that can ONLY be experienced by stepping out onto that balcony.
Other parks may have better rides, but IB has much more fun (for me). And they have the amazing Cornball...
My first trip was in 1993, so I started visiting before the Hurricane/Cornball days. The park was amazing then and is much more amazing now. You really do feel like you have stepped back into the 50s/60s, and are paying 1980s prices. Even the new rides fit in perfectly with the retro look (LoCoSuMo couldn't be more retro and that just rules).
I have turned on others to the park in recent years, and now they are hooked. I just can't imagine how anyone could not like the park. I guess it is a confusing place for the first-time-visitor, especially for non-coaster buffs, but thats why it rules! It is a confusing mess of amazement!
Looking forward to multiple IB visits in 2004, including my first overnight trip...
I really do need to get to IB. The 'retro' feel that everyone is talking about is something I would truly appreciate. As much as I love the new steelies, I miss the days when Schwarzkopf loopers, and coasters like Galaxies and Wildcats were the latest and greatest rides in any park.
