I dont know when they finally finished their 2002 season information but they describe some of the features on Superstition Mountain. They announce it as their 5th coaster(I guess that makes it official that it is now a coaster), they will be using a vertical elevator system for the cars because a traditional lift hill wont fit, and riders will face eachother giving a forward and backward feeling. Sounds cool to me. Check it out.

This looks like a fun ride. Is this going to be a mine train type of ride? Cant wait to try out this coaster because I will be hitting Indiana Beach after Stark Raven Mad!

A "triple-up?" Can't wait for this one to open up, should be a blast.

I don't see a triple-up in that picture that says there's one....
Still, this ride looks great.

Ok, is it just me...or could this ride really be a little bit scary? I mean, careening pretty fast through those incredibly tight turns and those walls so tight around you...
I dunno. It honestly just looks a little intimidating to me. And that double up drop is going to be sudden as hell.

If the shoe fits, find another one.
Den - I don't see it in the picture either, but I'll take CCI's word for it that the "triple-up" will be in place.
ravenguy - I know what you mean. Some of the drops, zig-zagging turns, etc., give this ride the potential to be out of control.

Indiana Beach likes to do this..... that is, scoot in a new coaster under the radar that defies hype and exceeds all expectations tenfold.
I really need to get there one o' these days.

Im very excited about this ride. I think it will be more thrilling than people expect!
1. The train meanders around and it looks like you are going straight but wait! There is a hidden drop!
2. I've been told that the ride is capable of 45mph but will probably operate in the 25-30mph range so it can remain a family attraction.
3. Front to back trains, The back car sits facing backward!
4. 180* in 4ft?
5. The mountain was fun before the renovation and I expect it will be that much better :)
Chuck, see you the day after SRM :)

I was just playing around with abbreviations for the new IB coaster and LoCoSuMo came to me on accident. It was just so funny [to me at least] that I decided I'd use it all the time. Its catchy, fun to say, and it rolls off the tongue....
LoCoSuMo!!

Does anyone know the height requirements for HH, CE and LoCoSuMo? This will determine whether I bring the whole family to IB or just CBaby.
-CPlaya
CPlaya,
Height requirements at IB:
Hurricane 48"/44"
CornBall 46"/42"
Tig'rr 54" ALL
Galaxi 44"/36"
LostCoaster no doubt to be determined. When Superstition Mountain ran, it was a 44" standard height (the Beach's adult standard) and all children could ride with a responsible adult. The Beach wants to still keep it a "family ride."
As for the triple up over the water, it wasn't tracked when the photos were taken. The steel base you see in CCI's picture was the old track base from S.Mountain.
CCI is packing surprises all over this ride!
