Indiana Beach 8/12/02 - (Bullet Point Review)

Associated parks:
None

ARRIVED: 10am - D'Oh! I forgot this is the part of Indiana that time (change) forgot...

LEFT: 3:30pm

PARK APPEARANCE/ATMOSPHERE: Ok, I guess...for the amount of people (mostly empty) is was kinda messy/dirty.

RIDE QUEUE TIMES: No waits to get on the coasters...just waits for the cars to fill...YAWN. (The exception was LoCoSuMo, which had 20-30 minute waits.)

BEST EXPERIENCE: The Haunted Castle walkthrough was great...so were the ProntoPups! LoCoSuMo was awesome...most out of control seat...last car, backwards!.

WORST EXPERIENCE: Ops appeared to be lackluster and having to wait up to 10 minutes waiting for train to fill before dispatches.

MOST PLEASANT SURPRISE: The Haunted Castle

BIGGEST DISAPPOINTMENT: Cleanliness and service. Everyone clainms that IB is on par with HW. Either I hit IB on a REALLY bad day or they must be smoking something...

COASTER RANKINGS

WITHOUT FLAW: Cornball Express

REALLY QUITE GOOD: Hoosier Hurricane, LoCoSuMo, Ti'Grrr

COLD FRIES BAD: Having to wait 10 minutes before train dispatch on HH and CE because park was empty.

JUST PLAIN AWFUL - Noting was truly awful...just didn't live up to the hype.

MAJOR NON-COASTER ACTIVITIES: Haunted mansion, Den of Lost Theives (green guns BAD!), watched the water show...nice!

BEST NON-COASTER RIDE: Sky Chairs

OTHER COMMENTS: It is a NICE park but not a great park that everyone seems to think it is. Perhaps I went on a bad day, but I left under-whelmed.

You mentioned in your TR that IB doens't match up to Holiday World, and you're right. They're two different places, and two completely different experiences.

While Holiday World is charming and quaint, Indiana Beach is quirky and "cool." It's all very subjective, and obviously will strike different folks in different ways.

Even though you were a bit "under-whelmed," it still sounds like you had a good time.
