Arrived at IB around 4 p.m. their time. Got our wrist bands for the POP for 24.95 each as they are not honroing any kind of ACE discount even though the ACE site says they are. So we headed toward Cornball Express. I thought I had read somewhere where IB had sent the train to be rebuilt? Anyway, as the train is making it's left toward the lifthill it's making a squealing noise and did it on the helix too. Hoosier Hurricane was next and it made the same noise, but the ride was awesome! It flew thru the course like I've never seen it fly before. The ride was extremely fast and darn near skidded thru the first brake. Unbeleivable fun ride. next up was anniversary dinner in the Skyroom. We ordered the "special" New York Strip with a blu cheese sauce. Waitress took our order but never asked us how we wanted our steak cooked. She came back 10 minutes later and asked. We got the dinners and needless to say it was the most tasteless dinner I have ever had. Normally the place is pretty good. I was pretty mad but held it in because I didn't want to spoil our night.

Next up was Steel Hog, and it was a blast. I had forgot how much fun this coaster is. It's still in my top 5. Went on the Shafer Queen at sunset got some pretty good pictures of the shoreline, and IB. Went to Den of Lost theves, this time the wife won. I had a gun that would not fire. Oh well. As usual IB still has the Giant Wheel with it's burned out light show, and burned out lights along the boardwalk. We went to Muzik Express, I could not help but look at the very bland scenery on this ride and no light show to really speak of, but they did have some music playing. They could really make this ride alot more fun than what it is. Add some police beacons, disco lights, strobes. Next up was Lost Coaster. The ride was ok, but none of the effects worked. not the skeleton in the mine car, the train, the barrel, nothing. disappointed. One thing I did notice in the park is there is no consistancy with anything animatronic. sometimes it works, sometimes it does'nt. I used to love Lost Coaster.

Next we headed back to Hoosier Hurricane. I was in for it this time..lol. this really tall guy, about 25 or so, sat in front of us in the front where his girlfriend made him sit and he was scared. I'm glad it wasn't me, because of the bugs he was wiping off his face. All in all we had a semi decent time for only 4 hours we were there. I just really wish that Morgan would pull his thumb out of his butt and get this park up to where we all know and love.

I tried when I worked there to get them to do police lights, disco balls, led lights, etc on Musik and have dance party music. Nobody listened. They even had Police lights and disco balls from when they removed them in the ballroom. Too bad about the animatronics, they made that ride cool. And light bulbs, is it that expensive to make that better? Really? I liked your report.

Went yesterday for my birthday, compared to last year on my birthday, it was a complete 180 for the good. The only two rides not open was the train and Splash Battle. Falling Star wasn't open, but I am starting to doubt it ever will. Splash Battle was dry, it just needs to be taken out. All the coasters were running great with the exception of Hurricane, it needs some serious track work. It is okay, but you can tell it needs it.

Out of curiosity, how long did you wait in line for Lost Coaster? Or Steel Hawg?

It's been a few years since I have been to Indiana Beach. It seems like almost all the reports on the park have been sad. I was surprised when they moved the midway rides away from the water, that was what made the park so special. The Music Express was one of my favorites, and, if I recall, it had a very decent sound and light show at night. It's too bad that they didn't include that when they relocated it. It just all sounds so bland and boring.

As for the coasters, I have not been on Steel Hawg or Lost Coaster, but I have been on all the other coasters there. My favorite is the Cornball, but I also like the Hurricane. My other favorite IB attraction is the Haunted Castle. I can't think of any other park that has such a nice walk through haunted house. They just don't make them like that any more. I also like Den of lost Thieves. Just those rides alone were enough to make me want to visit.

I have a question about the POP wristband. Exactly what is included? When I looked at the website, a combo pass was around $40.00. (Which I am not going to pay.) But, $24.95 sounds reasonable, depending on what you get, and how long. Last time I went an all day band was just $18.00. But, that didn't include the Castle. (Frankenstein's Castle?)

I am also sad to hear about the lights. It was very cool there at night. I took a trip on Shaffer Queen after dark, just to see IB skyline at night. They also had some pretty decent night time entertainment. And, I always thought the Skyroom had really good food. I usually ate dinner there, and had a few tacos during the day to tide me over. Are the tacos there still as good? I remember you could get 2 for $1.00, and pop was cheap.

I would like to go back, but from what I have been hearing. Not sure if it would be worth the 7 hour drive.

When did you go, 1977?

The amusement park rises bold and stark..kids are huddled on the beach in a mist

Wow. Actually, it has been quite a while. I think my last trip there was in 2002. Cornball express was just a year old. I know that they were in the process of building Lost Coaster the last time I was there. I love the tacos there. I think Den Of Lost Thieves was new that year. I'll have to look through my posts for my last IB trip report.

Actually Air Crow was the new ride. I remember because I think I was one of only 3 people on it, when I was there. But I could be wrong. They also had a Chaos ride, and was bummed that they replaced the twister with a tilt-a-whirl. I loved the Twister!!

Wow, 18$? hahaha. Now the combo pass is 39.99 and includes the water park, but not the Castle. I believe the Castle was 3.50$. If you have a kid under 48" it's 28.95$ and there is an extra cost if you want to do the stupid Adventure Point and zipline. I doubt if we ever see the Falling Star running. As far as I'm concerned they could have put the Adventure Point over where the Shafer swings, Music Express is and still put the zip line where it is now. Everyone would be happy. To me the board walk at night just does not have the atmosphere it used to have. Also, the short ride for the shafer Queen is now back on the POP combo pass.

Just got back from a weekend campout at Indiana beach that made me feel like a breakup from a old girlfriend just plain disapointed. Start off the walk from the north entry they must feel that the new cottages are more important than park upkeep. As you pass on the walkway over the log ride you can't help but see trash pallets and junk nice look IB . As the day goes both HH and CB had bad sounds from the wheels not what i expected. locosm broke down several times once with me on 20 minutes I will never get back. Water park is plain nasty dirty water no tubes and the three large tube down for the count. And I guess that park employees just throw there trash around the lazy river sides and junk littered every where. with all the paint Morgan used when they took over it is now started to fade and rust is every where. Now as the rides they had to relocate they have made them bland and uncolorful no lights. and as for lights at night this park reminds me of a second class carnaval as most light are out or not hooked up the once great bridge over the lake looks horrible. This is my last time here next time I will be at Holiday World Pat would be ticked if this ever happened on her watch. I wish Morgan resorts would just stick to campgrounds and let someone who knows run the park.

Sounds like the place has become to an enthusiast the equivalent of a run-on sentence to a grammar nut.

Hog was a walk on and Lost Coaster was a 45 minute wait with a ten minute breakdown, with a one train operation. good thing the Taco stand is next door.

It's a trap! I think that was a capacity question in disguise. :)

I was just looking at the Indiana Beach website. I'm guessing $24.95 is all right for an all day ride wristband, but, I'm not going to pay $35.00 to go to their water park. I didn't notice the offers they used to have for a daytime ride band, and a night-time wristband. If I recall, one was good until 4p.m. and the other was good from 4p.m to close. I think they were only $12.00. But, that was quite a while ago, and I used to get the combo anyways.

A couple things I found strange. What is the $2.50 cent spectator fee? The last time I went we had to pay $1.50 to get in, and then buy the wristbands too. Plus pay extra for the castle. (which is worth it.) I also think it's kind of dumb that you have to buy a ride wristband, plus pay $10.00 if you want to do their climbing course. And season pass holders also have to pay to do it. I just think it would be smarter, and more profitable to just charge the $10.00 to anyone who wants to do it, and let the season pass holders do it free.

Another question about the Climbing course. Do you get to do the course more than once for $10.00? or do you have to pay again if you want to go more than once? Not that I would, but just curious. That seems pretty pricey, or do you just get to stay in that area as long as you want?

I also notice that the Falling Star is on their ride list, yet, from what most people say, it has not been rebuilt. Oh well.

I didn't do it! I swear!!

I went there on July 14th. It was my first visit and I blogged about it. Figured with the sudden closing last summer that this place may go under soon, so might was well make a visit before that happens. The falling star is in pieces over by Steel Hawg. A coat of paint can go a long way........ Splash Battle sits decaying and empty. Cornball Express was by far the best coaster we were able to ride. This place would be very hard on people with mobility issues. This were carnival rides come to die. The water park looked scary. The place is in sad shape, would have enjoyed to see it in its prime....if it ever had a prime.
