Incident on SFGadv's Superman?

CP's skyride closes if somebody farts.
haha! sorry....
Ever see what wind does to a skyride? They ususally have it open if it's just a breeze but if its gusting I can't blame them for closing the skyride.

Chuck, who also thought it was funny :)

It was roped off for the parade. The parade goes all the way back around superman.

Thanks,

^Well that is rather stupid...then again it is an SF park & we all know that they're prone to making rather stupid decisions every now & then.

Perhaps they should've considered that when deciding what route the parade should take knowing that any decision they make could result in a ride...or whole section of rides being temporarily shutdown.

Yes, i understand the tragedy of a death in a park. As an employee, i witnessed a death and cleaned up afterwards(heart attack). It was all very quick and guests were kept back good distance as to not be able to stand and watch someone being worked on by paramedics.

The way it was stated was that someone may have gotten sick and the whole area was closed off.

I have called for medical attention to be given to guests quite a few times. Mostly they were in distress from heat and dehydration. I would stay with the guest but we did not close a section for that type of thing.

What park did you work at and what ride did it happen on? Also how do you clean up a death by a heart attack, it is not like he fell or got crush or smashed?

My thoughts exactly hamster boy. As i was reading that, I was trying to come up with a visual of a messy heart attack. I drew a blank...

But hey this mofo aint no doc!

Unless this was some kind of special parade, I don't think that would have caused the shut down of multiple rides. The daily parade doesn't rope off rides or shut them down. I saw the parade when it circled back to the Boardwalk area, I was close to Superman's area.

SFNO

It did not happen on a ride. it was a heart attack on midway.

After paramedics took the person away there were lots of medical tubes, caps ect all over to be cleared.
The midway is curved so not much space needed to keep guest far enough away out of view.
Two directors, one on each side keeping guests from going into area. Myself and another manager waited till they were finished then went in cleaned up then guests were allowed to flow through again.

This did not make any news.

Depending on where he was looking from it could look like that part of the park is sealed off. It looked that way to me as well until I got a closer look. The parade goes up into the area infront of GASM an S-UF an they do a skit for about 3 to 5 mins. Its all roped off with guards every where. Tons of people so I can see why he thinks it was completely sealed off. Make not as well that if it was something else it probably would be reported somewhere else. *** Edited 6/20/2006 8:21:46 PM UTC by Crashmando***

I was also there that day and found out they had a power outage and was told they were working on the problem and would hope to have S:UF open for Thursday. Went back Thursday morning and they had it up and running. They also had about ten workers digging up the ground by the white poles in the front that you catch the tram from.
