InBev to go hostile as Anheuser rejects bid

InBev, the world’s largest brewer, said on Thursday it would launch a hostile bid for Anheuser-Busch as its US rival rejected its $46bn bid as “financially inadequate”. In court documents filed in the Court of Chancery in Delaware, InBev said it was preparing to launch a proxy battle seeking the removal of Anheuser’s entire board, citing “delays and apparent plans to attempt to block the acquisition”. A-B owns a number of theme parks in the US.

Bear, I'll takes Yeung when I can get it, but there are also a who slew of good microbrews i can get here in NH. Try the Long Trail Blueberry Wheat if you can find it. When in doubt, I'll have anything Sam Adams makes.

Can stand Bud or Bud Light. It tates like water. gimme something with a bit more bite.

I honestly don't mind mass-produced beers. I mean, I tend to drink the Canadian varieties, but something like Bud Light isn't horrible, and you can find it anywhere. These days I probably drink Corona more than anything else.

We're fortunate enough here in Northeast Ohio to have Great Lakes Brewery, which makes some pretty good stuff. Truth is, since "discovering" wine and endeavoring to learn more about it, I've been more into that than beer. I've been working through various Rieslings right now. Haven't found one that really jumped out at me, but I'm generally not spending more than $20 to $25 a bottle.

I've been a Corona drinker for years. It's definitely a refreshing beer. I like a lot of microbrews but a lot of mass-produced stuff isn't all that bad, especially when you consider some microbreweries are close in size to mass producers. I'm particularly fond of Blue Moon and its seasonal brews.
I used to drink Bud Light but for some reason I decided I dont like it anymore. I would have to say my favorite beer right now is Rolling Rock follwed closesly by Blue Moon then Stella Artois. A Heineken from time to time isn't bad either. Any other Rolling Rock fans out there?

Oh Yeah and Jeff I love Riesling. I had the my favorite bottle ever when I was at one of the restaurants called Citricos in Grand Floridian at Disney World. It was a 2005 Monchof Robert Eymael Estate Riesling Mosel. I cant find it in any stores so I think I am going to have to buy a bottle off the internet. The name for my favorite bottle at home is escaping me right now. Its been awhile since I have had it because my wife was pregnant and couldn't have any so I would have felt guilty drinking it around her. Once I figure it out I will let you know. Any you have find that you liked at all? I always love to try new types.*** This post was edited by Iceman3 6/30/2008 3:03:12 AM ***

I like Rolling Rock as well. Corona is pretty good.

From the Chapelle Show, I'd rather have Samuel Jackson beer!

I'm a big Rolling Rock fan as well. It's a shame they moved the brewing out of "Old Latrobe". It always made a nice weekend to go to the Brewery and Idlewild on a Saturday (they're literally a few minutes away from each other), then hit Kennywood on the way back to Ohio.

Here's a great beer with a cause everyone here can appreciate:

It's tasty, and a portion of the proceeds go to preservation of historical Coney Island USA.
