In the eye of the (Dania Beach) Hurricane...

Got a small side trip to DBH this weekend, and this coaster is breaking in nicely.  Early on, it seemed a little "tight" and really didn't give much air save for those last three hills.  Well, we went on Saturday night, after a nice warm day with just a few light showers, and the ride was REALLY running well.  There was a "Santa's Village" assortment of rides just down the street, and the various assortment of entertainment/thrills at Boomer's, and the place seemed MUCH less crowded.  Even with the $10 unlimited rides, the coaster was a walk-on from 10-1.  Stand-up type air I've gotten on very few coasters in the first few rows, and the ride-ops were, relaxed...If you're in Miami/Ft. Lauderdale area, I recommend stopping by for (at least) a few spins...

I got the unlimited pass one afternoon, and this old guy kept making me get off and walk through the line.  All the other ride operators are laid back though, and that is cool.
I rode the DBH back in May during the 'Survivor' contest they were holding on it.It is now my #2 woodie. Its' layout reminds me of the long defunct Jantzen Beach Dipper(Portland,Oregon)I probably own the only DBH t-shirt in the state of Oregon. It gets comments every time I go to Oaks Park and Thrillville.(hey, where is that ride?)
how far is Dania Beach and Fort Lauderdale from orlando? I am traveling from boston to disney, making my annual pilgramage, and i figuared i would really like to try a new coaster in the florida area. I have been on all the other coaster in florida except the one at Old town.the hurricane sounds like a excellent ride but it might be too far from disney and i might not have enoughh time.

DBH is about a 3 hour drive from Orlando and is literally right off I-95.  It's kinda tricky to get to though.  I live right around the corner from it, so if you have any questions, let me know!
