In Search Of......SFO season passes

(queue Leonard Nimoy's voice... ;) )

So the official Six Flags Ohio site says "Get your 2001 season pass at Giant Eagle for $42.99 each through February 4, 2001"

I already picked up my 2001 Season Pass voucher in October, but I thought I'd get one for my brother for his birthday.

So today I went driving around the Pittsburgh area, looking for these alleged season passes. The Giant Eagles around here all had the Six Flags tickets last year, so I figured this should be easy. Yeah, right.

At the first one, the woman said "I don't think we're selling those, is that for skiing?" (Six Flags, Seven Springs, same difference ;) )

2nd one: "It's too early in the year, we won't be selling tickets until the spring at the earliest."

3rd: "Huh?"

4th: "Oh, we got those, but we figured they were sent to us by mistake since it's so early, so we sent them back."

I'll be calling an order in on Monday, but I'm amused by it all. Has anyone else tried getting a season pass voucher at a Giant Eagle, and if so, where? I have a friend who works at Giant Eagle corporate, and he said that it SHOULDN'T be isolated to the Ohio stores only -- he's going to call around work on Monday to see if HE can figure out what's up. :)

I just get mine directly from SFO.

Well, like I said, that's what I'm going to be doing (and already did, for mine). But since they're SUPPOSED to be available at the Giant Eagle, and I wanted to snag it for a gift, I was trying to find it locally.

Not a big deal, just somewhat amusing. (Especially the store that said they had them but thought it was a mistake!)
