In-house coaster development.

Even though Premier has taken over Six Flags they own the rights to the name so they probably own the rights to there only in house coaster development in the Viper at SFGAm. This woodie has been such a huge success to all that have ridden it that I was wondering why they dont start there own coaster manufacturing company and sell there design to other parks. If you can make your first coaster of this high quality than it only makes sense to market it. I really think that they could compete with CCI in the woodie department. Who else agrees? Or disagrees?
Well I'm not sure about CCI, as I have yet to ride one of their creations, but I think they could compete with GCI for sure. GCI does twister layouts right? (Roar east/west, HP Wildcat) Well Viper (SFGAm) is a GREAT twister. I am actually suprised that they have yet to build another coaster. Maybe they wanted to stop while they were ahead hehehehe.

Viper wasn't quite as cool as Roar (SFA) but it's still a great ride. I don't know, would you buy a ride design to a competitor? Would you sell a ride design to a competitor?

Knoebels built Twister in house as well. That just means they hired the carpenders and followed the construction as they wanted everything done. Twister was designed by a local person. As for Six Flags I could see them just designing coasters for their own parks since they are so big.

Jeff: this is a good example of differing opinions. I really dont like SFA's Roar except in the rear. In the front car there is *very* little air. And on the first drop, it seems like your at the bottom before it even picks up speed. Viper on the other hand, was a great ride to me everywhere. Oh well to each his/her own =]!
