Impulses: Better under certain conditions?

Wednesday, May 1, 2002 8:35 PM

It's odd -- I had one impulse ride that I thought was amazing; it absolutely blew me away (and it wasn't the first time I had ridden it either). But I've had a couple other instances where I was slightly underwhelmed.

This leads me to wonder -- Are there some times and conditions when the impulse runs better? I know this is the case with other coasters, but I'm wondering what effect the LIMS have on this phenomena.

I don't usually favor impulses, but my last ride on V2 was not too shabby. My first ride (Superman) even had the holding brake thingee working. I think it depends on my mood though.

I don't think it's just impulses. I just rode S:RoS SFNE two weeks ago and it was my 20th or so ride and also my best. Day vs. night, restraint setting, temperature, etc. can all affect ride quality.

AC?, RB?, MF?, DD?, PR? Who can keep track of it all?

It probably is the mood that yer in. But if you ride the back seat a bunch of times and then go to the front its awesome IMO.

Yeah, my 41st ride on S:RoS @ SFNE didn't live up to my expectations because of 2 feet of difference. Thats right, I sat in the second to last car and didn't get nearly as much as the very last car. It was very weird.
