I'm Having A problem...

Well... RCT2 has stopped working on my computer... It worked fine and then just stopped working.... I've reinstalled it and deleted every file from the folder (moved tracks and parks to seperate folder) and the game still wont work. I click the icon and the clicker has a hour glass near it and then nothing happens. When I Hit Alt/ctrl/del it says c and a whole bunch of numbers......Someone please help me because i need to play this game as soon as possible...

Maybe ya scratched the disc? I'd save up to buy a new copy, or borrow a copy from a friend if you still can't figure out the problem.

Well if it installs perfectly wouldnt that mean that the disk is fine?

not really, if the disk isn't scratched on the installation part of the disk, it will install but won't play. if worse comes to worse(had the same prob. w/RCT1) take it to a Wal Mart, and just do an even excange, which they will allow w/out a reciept(even if u didn't get it there, but don't tell them that), and all u have to do is give a social sec.number(i just make one up) and sign for it.

If it isn't scratched, call the number in the booklet and you may get it fixed(don't)or send and they will maybe give you a new copy.

Actually among closer inspection there is a "scratch" but when i run my finger across it doesnt feel like a scratch...just looks like one,.

I am having the same problem now, I recently replaced the hard drive on my computer and re-installed RCT2. Now it won't load. Everything is the same except for the new hard drive, which is larger, and RCT2 ran before. I've added all of the necessary drivers to run my sound and video cards, but RCT2 still won't run. When I click on the icon it just sits with the hourglass up and then it says RCT2 is not responding.

I have the same problem, except this the second copy of the game and the same thing has happened. It installs fine and you get to the start page and click on it and the hour glass goes around a couple times and that's it. The company says that they won't give you your money back, and they want you to pick a different game off the web site.I don't want a different game I wan RCT2. Mabey I'll try taking it back to best buy again and try another copy. I'll get back to you on that

Try using a CD Doctor. Those sometimes actually work if you use them right.

I have a problem too. When I try to start the game,it keeps saying loading,but the minute it starts loading,the box that says loading starts blinking and that's it! Well,least it works on my laptop.

OT. Real smart, Marimba. We all know that WalMart (and all its employees) think carefully about everything they do and all their policies, and they are so well-paid, they would never think of identity theft.

They have NO business with your social security number. "They must need it for something" is not a reason for giving ANYONE your SSI.

Where I live, bwt, identify theft is the single largest category of felony crime (a big county in SoCal). And most of the perps get the data they need from retail transactions. /OT

I solved my problem, I did a minimal instal on an old computer that we have in the bastement, with a better sound card and now it works fine. You have to waite for it to load everytime you start a differeent game, but atleast I can play it now.

the SSN has nothing to do with Wal-Mart 'needing' it. They use it to track returns w/o receipts, which they now limit to like 4 a year. I would say that as long as you're not in the habit of returning things you didn't buy from Wal-Mart there just to get cash (thereby taking advantage of the policy) there's no reason to give them your real SSN, as they're using it for 'Big Brother' purposes.

This is an extremely old thread but I'd rather find it here than start an entirely new thread...

In your case, MarimbaGuy, what did you do to solve your problem? I also replaced my hard drive because I needed the extra space and also changed my OS from ME to 2000. I was having no problem with the 10GB HD and Windows ME but I'm having no luck with the 40GB HD and Windows 2000.

I put the disk in, it gives me the splash screen and when I click the icon to "Play RCT2" the CD spins for a while but I never get to another screen. Eventually the CD just stops without me having ever left the desktop.

The game works perfectly on a friend of mine's system at his place on a compluter with less memory than I have, no scratches on the disk or anything like that. It just sounded as if the problems we have were similar so I thought I'd ask you what you did to rectify the problem.

Well If you just keep clicking it over and over and over it will eventually come up...Thats what I do...
