I'm feeling a little Deja Vu...

I know, last thing people want to hear about is this ride and it's problems. But I do have a bit of news. I picked a GREAT day to head out to SFMM today as they ran the first test run of Deja Vu. The park was fairly empty, so as I hopped off of Riddler's Revenge, I decided to take a look at that big blue and green thing that no one can stop talking about. I could not believe my eyes when I saw the train going up the lift, accompanied by very LOUD humming sound.

As I walked up to Cyclone Bay, the cable lift unleashed, and this thing flew! People started cheering as Deja Vu completed it's first test successfully! The ride is VERY fast and looks amazingly smooth. I hung around hoping to watch again, but they didn't press their luck, they shut down the ride after one test. What looked like a couple of Vekoma people and SFMM management stood off to the side congradulating themselves, as a bunch of people ran over to inquire about the ride's status. I heard someone say, "next month", and that was all I needed to hear. I then walked over to Goliath. ;)

Photos were taken. I was a little late to see the full test run but another site, www.sfmmguide.com , was able to photograph the test run. And yes, I've already submitted a news item.

I'm sure pictures will be all over the net by tommorrow. I hear that after I left, they fired it up again. I wouldn't get too excited, it was just a test. BTW, the towers are up for the Thrillshot attraction, and vertical construction on X is about a week away from being completed.
