I'm Back From Thunderhead Gap

Associated parks:
None

I wish they would have a 3D map again, where you could see what the buildings and rides look like. I guess people can navigate with the current ones better though.

Baby Center coming soon....i wondered last weekend what they were adding on to the showstreet bakery/restrooms.

They've been making alott of improvements to the park over the last few years. The Doggywood Kennel and Season Pass Center are both very nice. I'm sure the "Baby Center" will help families with small kids a great deal.
Just thinking how much I hate Festival of Nations, I mean some of it is nice, but this is a theme park in TN! I want to go to DW some day without a festival going on (since there newest festivals suck).

Im done now.

I ahte to start this, but now that we have Thunderhead, what's next for DW?

Have they added some new acts for the Festival of Nations this year? I'm tired of the ones from the past two years. Although the Moonshine Irish dance show is a great place to nap >wink<

I bet DW will be jam packed on Friday ... I have the day off work and considered going down there, but I'd rather not stand in line forever. Would like to go down on a non-holiday weekday.

Good idea. Stay away from DW this Friday.

I totally agree with your comments. The Festivals are nice (except Kidzfest--YUCK!), but Dollywood is not about festivals. The park should not forgett what it is all about, and that is the Smoky Mountains.

As for what's next, hopefully more live entertainment. But I'd also like to see a B&M Invert maybe in 2 or 3 years. :)

Ive heard something more exciting than that, Duke. HFE Design has drawn up plans for a B&M floorless with 5 inversions. He said also that it this floorless may be the first hyper-floorless ever built! The person I got this from works with the people in this dept. on a daily basis.

Another woody, is possible also, in the coming years.

You should have went to Dollywood today (sunday). I was lucky enough to get 62 rides on Thunderhead today since the park was dead. Even got afew laps on the Tornado.

This is one coaster that you can simply believe the hype. It is that great. Just think what it will be like when it gets broke in.

I wish i had, but im gonna wait for a couple of weeks for all the hype to die down. I think Thunderhead is now my favorite coaster of all time.
