SFWoA's vacation guide uses a photo of ROAR in place of a VILLIAN photo. It's funny because the train clearly says ROAR.
I knew the whole coaster wasn't wood! Thanks Pointman!
Hey, the people we should feel sorry for is Six Flags (ok, not that sorry). I'm sure they placed the advertising awhile ago and I'm sure they fully intended to have the ride open by now. Remember everyday the ride isn't open, Six Flags is losing money from people who would only go to ride Deja Vu. I Hope Vekoma is putting a little money towards correcting the advertising since they're the ones causing the delay, but I don't know if there's any penalties for lateness in their contract.
Great America puts a sign by the ticket booth that Deja Vu will not be open. What a great deterrent. Many people likely made a long trip to get there, and then they find out at the ticket booth!! (And they've already wasted 8.00 on parking if they want to leave, not to mention gas). The numerous billboards all say "Making History" and "2 New Coasters!" If you aren't coaster nuts you wouldn't think that these wouldn't be open by July.
Bull Fan, remember every park has warnings that certain attractions, including new ones, may not be able due to weather, or mechanical issues.
I was at SFGAm this past Monday ,June 25th.
While chilling out on the little railroad that circles the park (a much needed break after experiencing the incredible intensity of V2), the train’s tour guide mentioned that Deja Vu is expected to open in 3 weeks…
I sure hope so…
;-)
Everything is taken seriously in Illinois, and I am glad it is. I see the signs on I-90 with V2 and Deja-Vu and it doesnt phase me. To the GP, I can see their point. Hey CoasterCameron, if you think that is all we worry about, why dont you take a trip here, and find out what the real world is like. Amusement parks arent our main objective but I can see the state taking a stance on this. They did the same thing with Santas Village back in 97. A much smaller park that said its new coaster would debut but it was delayed for a year. Unless you are from the Chicago area , I would suggest to you to keep your opinions to yourself because you have no clue what goes on here.

I plan events for my company and get regular visits from a SFGam representative. The thing that irritates me is that before they even STARTED advertising the two new coasters, she was able to tell me that V2 would be open sometime at the end of May/beginning of June and that Deja Vu wouldn't open til sometime in August.
In the UK, parks all have a disclaimer stating that they reserve the right to alter or change or close attratctions without prior notice. It saves all this trouble anyway.....!!
hey jimbo, raging bull was not open for opening day in 99'. That's the only reason I went there that day and I was very p***ed. It didn't open till the next weekend, and we didn't find out about that till we got to the gate, and when I went early this season I did get to ride V2 but again got burnt by SF. It's 2 hours closer for me to go to SFga rather than CP, but I think I'll stick with CP
I'm rather pissed about that ride not opening.. I mean its more than halfway into the summer and its still not open. What I'd like to know is WHY isn't it open? Is there a physics or mechanical problem with it.. did someone get like whip lash or some ****? Or aren't they done assembling it yet? If anyone knows e-mail me or just reply to my post.

I was there early June and they had just finished with the towers (and well, everything else). They still needed to install the cables, motors, breaks, station equpment, query line, signs, roof on station. Then they have to install the actual car (and there only is 1 car, which I hated @ V2, took FOREVER) which is a pain in the a** to do with the inverted coasters, but not just that, its finding a day for the makers (Intinam, I believe) to come and bring/intall the cars. Then there is a solid 2-3 weeks of testing, probably more. When I was there in the 2nd week of June none of this had been done. If they work hard, and they probably will work damn hard, they can get it open 1st week of August (when I go again, houray!).
Also, they probably are guilty of at least once promoting Deja Vu as if it was open. They used such wording though that it just confuses people, not proves their guilt. I see print/billboard ads in Milwaukee quite a bit with Deja Vu advertised. If they don't get it up by the end of the season they are screwed, however. The guys who are going there from the radio station are promoting both coasters, though. SixFlags can't really be responsible for that.
Anyone know the current status of Deja Vu? Even if they open it ASAP, its going to have problems. Actuially, hopefully it will. When I was there in June V2 broke down for 15 minutes, which made 20-30 minutes of people in front of me leave the line (houray). Then we went over to Batman and the same happened, then to Ironwolf and amazingly the same happened for a third time.
Its funny when the final breaks @ V2 break down, it just goes back and forth, then back and forth, for about 5 minutes.
One last thing, they NEED to get those trimmers back @ the top of American Eagle. That thing needs to race! American Eagle is odd because many people don't see the side closest to the park (red side, I think) since the entrance is not on the main path you use to get to the ride. SixFlags needs to get rid of the fence so you can get right back on w/o going out of that big tent @ the entrance though.
