IGN Gets Into the Picture With Their Preview!

With the E3 coming to an end, Rollercoaster Tycoon2 was shown in full swing, and noticed by more than a few web sites & game magazines. Most noticably was IGN.com.

http://pc.ign.com/articles/360/360630p1.html

They noted that the name will officially be called "Rollercoaster Tycoon2: Six Flags Edition", and along with that, they have upped the resolution to a max of 1024x768 which is good since the original was stuck in 640x480 (you could set your size as larger, but it only zoomed out the screen).

It goes on to mention that the max map size has been doubled, along with a total of 25 new coaster types.

This is kind of good news, but it was also stated that Chris Sawyer kept the same engine and same formula to keep those who are fimilar with the original game, can just jump right into this one and feel right at home.

Also of note is Gamespot's preview.
Not as detailed, but it's a first impression from them:

No more info, all we need is a demo!

YES, I can't wait to see a demo! When did the Original RCT's demo come out? Was it before the game came out?

Actually, increasing the map from 128x128 to 256x256 means the map size has QUADRUPLED, area-wise...

Bigger maps is what I needed because those long lift hills took up to much space and now I can work on my recreations.

Once again, I have wet myself. I can't wait for this game. I wonder if they will end up releasing a Cedar Fair version as well. Probably not, but we can dream, cant we? :)

Hey man. Wanna buy some weed? Crack? Freepass on Millennium Force? I got the hook up...

Finally I can build my food stalls and bathrooms underground, I cant wait
I heard the max building height was 400' which I can believe, because in the screen shots S:UE was kind of tall. 25 new coaster types are alot and they only showed about 7 or 8 different coaster types and we are excited. I can't wait for this game.
did you see the intaimin inverted impulses??????????????????????????/

Nitro, how could you miss them?!

Jayrider, I think most of the 'new' rollercoasters are just revisions and addons to other coaster types.

I thought it was 25 SF recreations, not 25 new coaster types???

SFNE drops the "floor" on SFNE for 2002! Visit my new site, www.geocities.com/sfneguide for some great pics of SFNE and lots of other info.!!!

It was 5 Six Flags recreations, and 25 'new' coaster types.

What do yall think the six flags parks will be. I think it's the parks that has the impulses and giant invertigos and new technology rides so they can show the new improvements and coasters.

SFMM- Obviously this is one, they have X and De Ja Vu' prototypes. The Gionolva design in the game is new. S:UE height mark of 400' would be showed also.

SFGAM- The impulse and Giant Invertigo which is in the game. The b&m hypers might have improvements in the game so they might include this one.

SFOG- The B&M flyer which is new and probably have b&m track to show off (hopefully).

SFA- The Intamin hyper & the priemere launch coaster. They said they are going to have a priemere coaster.

SFGADV- Is a possibility because I think they made improvements on the b&M hyper because people say it looks different. They have a priemere coaster and They probably made the heartline coasters capable of turning like Viper. I just hope they have room on the map for this park.

These are my choices imo, because they seem like the parks the game want to incorporate to show the new designs off because these parks have a little of everything. Sorry for being a little off topic.

That would be cool if they did a recreation of SFH, since they just got an Intamin Mega. Instead of SFA, I would think they would use SFWoA since it is one of the flagship parks.

Yeah maybe but what sfwoa has the other parks already have. Only thing that sfwoa has that the game just included is the impulse I can be wrong, maybe they would put SFWOA. I will like to see SFH too that would be cool considering they have a priemere and a intamin coaster. It looks like a good park to recreate, we just have to wait until October which is a long way and I can't wait for the game.

I'd actually have to say they can't re-create Worlds of Adventure, because half of that park is a marine-park, and I don't think they have outdoor ampitheaters & marine attractions in RCT2...

...Then again, the key word is "think"...

-----------------
....Summer is only a short 91 days long. How much of that time are you going to use at the amusement parks??

In the screen shot of the blue coaster that is being constructed, you can see that banking is available on the top of the hill that's being built....banked inclines look very feasible!
In order to show off the premiere rides LIM bowl coasters the parks will either be SFFT or SFA ,seeing as how those are the only two SF parks which feature that ride, does it really matter though because we can just re-create any of the SF parks that we want, not to mention any fantasy parks that we may come up with.
Where have u seen all these sn's? I haven't seen any "S:UE, I've seen impulse but not specifically S:UE" or a Giant Inverted Boomerang, where r they?

The below statement is true.
The above statement is false.

Constant Looping is a lack of creativity.

In the sfmm screenshot with Goliath you can see S:UE and it is very tall. Chris said that the sfmm recreation would have the X coaster and De ja vu' and I know they are probably very accurate.
