If you have ridden 7th Portal!

I rode at PGA and If you have ridden, I have some questions about the ride like if these things happend to you..

During the film when the 3d images would get real close it got kinda blurry lessing the effect.. this happen to anyone?

The ride had exteremly slow loading time and couple that with the ride it self I would always see the pre show at least 3 times! How about you?

Speaking of the preshow, Did you notice that what Stan Lee is saying is not really what his mouth is saying? It looked like a Kung Fu movie! This happen to you?

Last but not least, what did you think of the ride!?

I thought it was great, leaps and bounds over James Bond. I am used to Universal and Disney 3d shows, and yes this one is just as good, no it doesn't have the great magic and experiences of the others but the movie is very good!

So what is better? SFMM or CP? I don't care! They both have 29 coasters between them that they build so we can have a good time!

I rode at PCW and I found the load times to be horrible. I saw the pre show 6 times (i counted). Stan Lee's lips only didn't match for about 3 seconds.  I didn't find it blury and it was much better than Escape from Dino Island, James Bond and all the others (definitly a step in the right direction)

As for the blurry 3-D, that has happed to myself a few times. I have done the one at PKD and PKI. The reason for the blurry factor is because the lenses in the 3-D glasses are not properly alligned, or the polorizers in front of the projectors are not properly alligned.

During a park event at PKI this year, we got ERT on 7th Portal. The first time I saw it that night, the 3-D was blurry. I tried it again a second time with another pair of 3-D glasses and it looked fine.

As for the pre-show, I have never watched it more than twice. The voices looked like they matched on the ones I watched.  I also agree that is is the best movie to be shown at those theaters.

One minor thing I did notice was that the PKD version sounded like it had a better sound system than the PKI version. I know they probably have the same exact system, but for some reason, the PKD version seemed to have more bass and a crisper sound.

I have been on the one at Carowinds a good many times. For point 1, no its never became blurry to me. Point 2, yes the load times are very slow and you can practically memorize the pre-show before you go in. Point 3, no I didn't notice any problems with the vid/sound synching up. And as for the ride, I love it and it is definitely way ahead of Days of Thunder and James Bond.

Yes, I did experience some of things you talked about, including seeing the pre-show several times in a row. However, I loved the movie! I was completely blown away by it. I will definitely have to watch it again next year, because it was confusing at times.

Sean F., PKD and PKI may have the same sound system, but if you liked the sound better at PKD, it's no accident. I'm a sound engineer and I can tell you that tweaking the sound system, or adding different components can make a big difference.

SFA 2002-What are they building?

Honestly, I like Smash Factory better. I think because I wear glasses and have a twinge of astigmatism, the 3-d effects never seem to focus right on ANY of them. Especially if I'm not sitting dead center. It tends to start giving me a head ache.

I never had to endure more than about 2.5 preshow cycles. But IMO that was a good thing as I had no idea who the "Data Raiders" were. On a side note, I thought the whole concept was cheezy. Very well done mind you, but basing a comic on the whole internet craze doesnt "Do it" for me.

Bring back Captain America and the Avengers!

I enjoyed both 7th portal and Smash Factory very much. However, I think I give a slight edge to Smash Factory. I enjoyed the humor. I just couldn't get into the story for 7th Portal.
What is 7th. portal? I realize it is a simulator, but what is the story?
