If you bought SFDL, how would you Improve it?

Reduce Admission? I'd raise it. And I'd keep those PPE rides for sure.

How else are they going to make money to replace all those new rides? Duh!

Raise season pass admissions, but park admission is high as is, especially if they're competiting against the smaller parks for guests as well as in a depressed market.

Season passes could go an extra $5.00 with minimal impact so as long as they have something new to market. Parking is high enough, however.

As far as pricing, along with free soda, I would keep admission the same, lower the parking fee, and with the addition of a new waterpark, raise the season pass prices.

I think the resort prices are reasonable and I would certainly never _not_ stay at the campground because of the price.

I think they need to focus on being a small park locals love, and not a large Six Flags destination park. *** Edited 10/26/2005 2:29:52 PM UTC by eightdotthree***

THANKS for pointing that out -Sorry there mr byte I was quickly typen that while in class :-)

My apologies, I dont think they are looken to close the place especialy with all the land and Hotel under it. I know its not in the greatest of places but its still a good park and can be better.

the parkneeds a few things and mabie its better off under new ownership.

hey, I don't want season pass prices raised. As I said before, I use to live in the area, and I got my season pass every year from them, $40 is a good deal, vs. the 60 bucks I would pay if I got them from SFNE or The Great Escape. So, I get my pass mailed to me every winter for $40 since they have me on file. It's a great deal for me, and it pays off in one visit.

To address the issue of which park is better, Marineland of SFDL, SF takes it. Marineland has a nice coaster, but the walking is terrible. There aren't too many rides at the park, the focus is animals. It's a zoo with a roller coaster and an S&S tower (which, might I add, is pretty cool. If you are a tourist here, you can kill two birds with one stone: Go to Marineland and see Niagra Falls from the top of the tower). SF has more rides. *** Edited 10/26/2005 2:41:41 PM UTC by italianstallion***

People like you are the reason I'd like to see season pass prices raised...
^ don't bring your issue with me over from the Kingda Ka post. Keep it over there, and stop acting like a 3 year old...Wait, you are? Nevermind.
can you imagine the money they make in parking alone? i mean, $7.00 per car, 550 cars is $3850. Three thousand dollars in their pockets just to have a couple people wave you into a space. What are people going to do, not pay it? Turn around and leave? :-P Keep parking prices at what they are, it's good money that could be spent wisley!

Thank you, and enjoy the rest of your day here at Six Flags Darien Lake
I'm not bringing any issues over here. And at least for a 3 year old, I can figure out that higher prices get rid of a certain element that I don't want at the park.

Looks like someone still hasn't 'got it' yet.

Parking at SFDL could easily be higher, it's one of the cheapest parking fees at any corporate park in the country. Season Pass prices should definitely be higher, especially considering the issue of "pass-share" or whatever you want to call it. If you're not going to tell people, but still accept the passes at all other parks, then OK, I can see a difference in prices, but otherwise, if you're telling people, it should be around $120 (a little under 3 visits) across the board. Every park, same price, regardless of actual park admission. Either that, or you can pay a reduced price (say a little over 2 park visits so price can be tied to 1-day admission) for a pass only good at that park.

Oh, I got it, you don't want to see people like you at parks, that's the element. I agree, I would never want to see or meet a person like you at a park.

sfdl: H-Bomb would do the trick nicely.

Are the admission prices all that expensive? I think they run $33 during the summer and right now you can get them for $20 or so. Online or at Wegmans, knock those prices down to $22 and $15 respectively. I think those are about the right price for the park. MFI and Seabreeze both cost about $20 to get in, so they are about on target.

Season passes are only $50 right now and they only get as high as $60. That's among the cheapest available... heck, one days admission at some Florida parks is more than that! Some parks charge $150 a year for passes, I don't think anyone should really complain about Darien Lake's pricing. I'm pretty sure MFI doesn't sell season passes that cheap!

MFI Charges 49.99
MiA's season passes are on special right now...only $85.
I think it funny when people want new coasters and rides and new stuff and better stuff, but they don't want to pay for it. How much does IOA charge just to get in the gate now? Isn't it like $60 bucks? And when was the last time they got something major?

SFI would be good to up their prices at least $10 at every park, and charge no less than Paramount for a Season Pass. Sure, running specials for SPs early in the season or at the end of a season for the next year is great, and selling tickets online cheaper is not only good for us, but selling online is cheaper for them, as they don't have to staff that person or pay for the ink, paper, etc. is acceptable.

You really do get what you pay for. I paid like no more than $30 for each visit I've made to a Six Flags Park. I've never paid less than about $40 for Cedar Fair (except Geauga, and for some, they'd agree with this statement) or a Paramount Park. Guess where I've had the best experiences?

"Don't raise the price, cause then I couldn't afford to go!"

Indeed :).
