If TTD tested for a month, how is KK opening with a weeks testing?

Since TDD was the prototype, extensive testing was necessary.

As a general rule, any question that can be answered MORE than sufficiently in one short sentence can be crammed into ANY ol' thread...;)

Trust me on that one...:)

I am currently learning to speak a bit of Japanese. One one of the first things I learned was when someone is asking you a question in Japanese, you are supposed to listen for the "Ka" sound to basically make sure you are being asked a question.

So, if "Ka" equals that of a question mark, then perhaps the name of the ride is true.

Kingda ?

Sorry, I had to do it.

LMAO!

Good one, Sean! :-D

Moosh, that was really funny! Priceless.

I think some people should leave Beast Tamer alone. I don't know all of the threads that he has started, but I have seen some good, legitimate questions on here. And, I say some, because I don't know all of them that has been posted. I saw his MF thread closed, but I have to say that I have also heard many people say that after a few laps on MF, they were bored with it.

I think what he was getting at was that the train doesn't actually stop until the end of the brake run. What he fails to realize is that they pulled off many of the brake fins at the start of the run and every fifth pair thereafter. Before that, it presumably slowed to a crawl somewhere near the middle of the run (which is what happens on the launch track in the event of a rollback).

It also stops really early on the finish side when the trains are empty and/or cold. When they do test rides, they have to wait like an extra minute for the train to roll all the way to the drive tires. :)

It might just be the angle I saw, but it looked like the turn around back of the station on KK was sloped down - kind of like an Arrow station. Maybe they're going to use gravity to get the trains close to the station, rather than have 10 million drive tires out in the rain causing problems like on TTD.

Which is also the genius of having the brake run on a steep slope. Both full and empty trains will stop quickly and safely without slowing down to a complete crawl for minutes.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."

Jeff: HEY! You smushed your facts in my comedy!

TTD is not a prototype. Look up prototype in a dictionary.

  1. An original type, form, or instance serving as a basis or standard for later stages.
  2. An original, full-scale, and usually working model of a new product or new version of an existing product.
  3. An early, typical example

O.K. Now what? :)

My favorite MJ tune: "Billie Jean" which I have been listening to alot now. RIP MJ.

Just because it was bigger than Xcelerator doesn't make it a prototype.

Jeff, try explaining that very same thing to people who think Magnum was a prototype. :)

But it *was* the first of the L-TH-B genre...;)
So, uh, I guess this question has been answered.
