I just wish, this sounds like a great park to go to waste.I wish ACE would/could do something about this.Like Dick Knoebel look what he did,but it was only with one coaster not a whole park.

Both the Wildcat and the JackRabbit looked to be in pretty bad shape. Even though they were SBNO, they were standing idle and rotting for 17 years... just imagine the condition of the wood and the rusted mechanical parts. Besides, the Wildcat was heavily damaged to begin with in the 1984 fire that lead to the demise of the park (sooner rather than later). The question anyway is moot since both of the coasters were demolished earlier this year (and I do not think any thing from them is in storage).
The only chance of resurection of either of these two coasters is to have them rebuilt anew from old blue prints (more in line of what Knoebels did with Twister and the plans for Mr.Twister rather than relocating the Rocket-now-Phoenix).
Not too sure how this would go over. The Wildcat (a Schmeck design I believe) was notroriously rough (I thought I read somewhere that teeth were sometimes knocked out). Its final version was even a tamed down version from its original form I think. If it were to be rebuilt, I am sure the plans would be adjusted even more to take into account today's litigation happy society.

There is nothing left of either coaster but the blue prints are floating around somewhere. There is a rumor awhile back that some guy wants to rebuild the park in a different location but close to the original location, but I heard he was still trying to raise funds. A good site for info about Idora is www.idorapark.org.

Christ how do you kids do it
Actually, I just woke up, ;) but I do believe the church was behind the death of a dying park.
