Due to growing safety concerns and frequent vandalism, the owners of Idora Park my demolish the remaining two roller coasters as soon as this summer.

Where's Dick Knoebel when you need him? The Jack Rabbit would be a nice addition to Knoebel's and Lord knows if anyone could do it, it would be Dick. He's proven that already with Phoenix.

I doubt very highly there's anything you could do with that coaster anyway. It's in horrible shape. The wood isn't even worth it.

Jeff, you're always very defensive about Idora Park in the way that you say it is doomed and will never be anything ever again. Had you ever been there? I think you're old enough and close enough to have been. Was it a nice park? Good coasters?

Anyway, I would really like if at least one of the coasters were rebuilt without the old wood. Especially Wildcat. I've heard it was a wicked coaster in it's days.

I was never there while it operated, but I did get to see the park close up about two years ago. By the roads and parking lots, you can get a couple feet from most any point on either coaster. Trust me, I'd love to see them preserved, moved, or whatever, but when you actually see them close up, common sense tells you it just can't happen. The rides have deteriorated beyond repair.

See for yourself...

Maybe SFWoA can step up and lay down the money to save these two coasters.

Why? Is that going to increase their attendance? Six Flags is not a charity.
