Idol Tour + Coaster Trip Plan

My family is considering taking a trip up to Ohio to see the American Idol tour and possibly hit some parks as well. In the family is my mom (Idol lover), dad (driving slave), niece (6 year old brat), and me (Coaster and Idol enthusiast).

See, the Idol tour comes to Washington DC when I'll be starting college (CNU!). So, my mom and I really want to see it and this was one of my ideas and I wanted to get people's opinions if this is a smart plan of attack.

We would head to the Columbus arena for the Idol concert on July 31st. I was wondering if that one is smarter or the one on the 29th in Cleveland.

After the concert, we would then go to Kings Island since our whole family has season passes to Kings Dominion. Would is be wiser to hit the park before or after the Idol tour. I'm unsure if its on the way to the concert or beyond it.

After PKI, we would consider visiting Cedar Point for two days. I've been here before but not to PKI. Anytime at CP is always good.

Do you think this is a wise plan of attack or would there be more convient parks to hit rather than these? If there are, they need to have plenty of kids rides to keep my niece satisfied.

All of your help is appreciated, thanks! *** Edited 5/13/2004 9:50:18 PM UTC by RCTfan***

You should hit PKI, then the concert in Cleveland, then go to CP. You'll be right by GL and and not far from KW while in Cleveland too.
If it is your first trip to PKI I suggest at least 1.5 days (preferably a night and a whole day since this park is superb at night) because PKI is big, has some good flats and a great waterpark.

If it was me I would just skip the American Idol concert and do the Ohio trifecta (GL, PKI and CP) but thats just me ;). *** Edited 5/14/2004 3:52:39 AM UTC by Touchdown***
