Idlewild radio commercials?

I live in Ohio and I always hear commercials for cedarpoint, sixflags, and the other ohio parks. But lately out of the blue I have been hearing Idlewild commercials, are they having problems getting guest or what?
Idlewild commercials? In Ohio? Is it the Idlewild in Ligonier, PA? Geez...

I've been hearing them a lot as well, but then again, I do love kind of close. ;) When I went back in June the place looked pretty packed, I think they're just trying to get more guests, but aren't really suffering from attendance problems.

They need a new small coaster.

My constant suggestion to Kennywood is to rebuild their old Dipper coaster at Idlewild. The room is there, and I think it would be quite a nice fit with the feel of the park. We still have the trains, the lift chain, and motor in storage at KP... and of course the blueprints.

Speaking of ads, did you hear the latest Sandcastle ad where they're touting the $6.95 all you can eat place they built last year? They're saying "all you can eat for less than the cost of parking at Six Flags!" Pretty funny IMO.

There had been some talk about four or five years back about Idlewild building a terrain coaster behind Raccoon Lagoon. The park owns a lot of land, including the mountain back there. However, that was right around the time Kennywood took over the operations at Lake Compounce. So who knows if that will ever happen.

The park does, however, have a log flume ride in storage, which will probably be one of the next attractions, given the recent expansion at the waterpark.
I saw and Idlewild tv commercial here in Ohio as they were advertising the Laural Highlands.

The log flume that Phantom Catcher was talking about is from Old Indiana Fun Park, BTW, for all you defunct enthusiasts.

...not that your enthusiasm is defunct...

(Just an inside joke only one other person on this site should get.)
The more terrain coasters in Western PA the better. :)
