Icebreaker POV

OK... I got a lap on it today, and it's the first time I've had Simon at a media event where he was tall enough to ride the new thing. The airtime is no joke. It might be a family ride, but it's pretty thrilling.

That's awesome! It was hard to tell if he liked at first, but it was pretty obvious at the end.

Winter hat, gloves, scarf??? Was it 60 that day?

Those gray skies and jackets fooled me into thinking it was an end of April media day in Ohio

That's precisely how it felt. I was wearing shorts and regretted it. Also, the hats were handed out as part of the event.

Jeff- How old is Simon? My kid is 12 and I still do the hold-his-restraint deal.

IceBreaker looks fun! People really seem to overlook it. It definitely looks like a back seat ride though to fully enjoy that 100° rear spike.

But then again, what do I know?

He's 11, but he is not very adventurous yet. I never know or understand the autism angle either, and don't want to project my own on him. I didn't ride anything good until I was like 15. I still couldn't get him on Mako, the best ride in Orlando.

I'm ready for the first ride on Rip Ride Rockit POV

Interesting view on Mako – have you ridden Velocicoaster yet?

Yeah, was gonna say...

Velocicoaster > Mako >>>>>>> RRR.

Nope, haven't been on it yet. But I can get comps, so one of these days.

You should. I genuinely can't think of a better sit-down coaster.

^ Ugh, that thing didn't fall into Lake Erie yet?

... So something worthwhile can finally go in its place :)

^ I would expect nothing less from you when it comes to appreciating Arrow goodness.

Back on topic, I rode Icebreaker today during passholder previews. The backward launch was cool, but compared to Hagrids just up the street it fell a little short. And the shin guards were more painful than they should have been on the airtime pops.

It does what it does very well and will be a big hit with the Orlando family tourist crowd. Even though it was a walkon, after one ride I opted to head to Mako to enjoy one train ops with 5 minute dispatches.

Not sure if it's permanent or temporary, but they upped the height requirement to 54 inches

Nothing to see here. Move along.

So much for being a family ride.

At least Simon got a ride, I guess.
