IAAPA 2001: Show attendance positive despite current economy

Posted | Contributed by Jeff

28,586 People attended IAAPA's 2001 show in Orlando this year, making it the third largest event ever for the association. Buyers came from 82 countries to view the products and services of 1,265 exhibitors in 568,800 net square feet of exhibit space. The Thursday night social at Universal Orlando’s Islands of Adventure amused a party of 3,896.

"Traditionally, IAAPA is a show where you spend brief moments with potential clients. The attendees this year were educated and informed, and we are excited by the business we generated throughout the week," stated Terry Reeves of Dippin’ Dots.

There you have it... straight from the real Dippin' Dots guy!

And you bet that was a good night at IOA. Now, if they could just keep Hulk open until closing next year!

As a show amabasador with IAAPA, I can confirm that it was a very successful show.  There was tons to do through out the week.  The social at IOA was nothing short of amazing!!!  All the food and drinks were included in with the the ticket.  Beer and wine was also available, at no extra charge with a limit of three free alcohol drinks.  I am looking very forward to be working with IAAPA again next year
i dont want to sound stupid or anything but is this event always held in florida or dose it travel around the u.s from year to year or how do it work? thanks
It's held in various locations. However 2001-2004 will be in Orlando. 2005 and beyond has yet to be annouced.

And seeing as how everyone seemed to think that Atlanta in November kind of sucks, I can see a lot of strong favor toward Orlando.

The part of the press release I didn't mention is that about 18.5% of the attendees are from outside of the US.
