I wish PKI would close!

Well, Phantom theater is gone for good. I am so angry at PKI for this. PT was almost always one of the top 10 most ridden attractions at this park. why would any park take down one of its top 10 rides?

This shows that PKI is ran by a bunch of MORONS who do not listen to the park guests. They could have kept PT running for a lot longer than they did. I wish PKI would just close for this act of disrespect to its guests.

Farewell Maestro, Hilda, Lionel Burymore, Mighty Bosco and the rest of the gang of Phantom Theater. I am very sorry all of you had to be in a park ran by losers. I will miss you all and I hate Paramount forever!

The attraction that is in that location has changed every tens years since it opened. I think that wishing the park would close is the most stupid thing I have ever heard...

That is right! I will visit Cedar Point, Lesourdsville Lake, Stricker's Grove, Camden Park, Six Flags, Lakemont, Idlewild, Kennywood and other non Paramount Parks. The only exceptions I may make are Carowinds and Canada's Wonderland-parks who seem to care about their patrons(despite being ran by Paramount). I want Phantom Theater back! I want PKI to close if PT doesn't come back!

I don't know about being run by a buch of morons. Jeff Seibert is a really nice guy. As for the ride, it never had a line, it needed something to return ridership to it. I am sure what they will put in will be better then ever.

I loved PT as well, but only because it reminded me of the Haunted Mansion at WDW. Most people, I think, are ready to see something new put it it's place.

If anything, I think it keeps PKI from becoming stale.

On top of that, they had done a horrendous job of maintaining that attraction - partially because of the disrespect shown by guests.

Park guests did show a lot of disrespect for PT and that is sad, but the ride got nearly 1,000,000 visitors in 2000 and was the 6th most popular ride that year-there were people that loved it. Go to www.dafe.org to find info to back up this claim. It appears that a certain Canadian is rude, eh?

PKI has messed up worse than CP has this summer.

If you have any history of the park over the past 30 years, you would know that they change "residents" once every decade and it just happens to be about time for the new party to move in. Phantom Theatre had a long run at the park, but like MagnumForce said, the lines have been fairly nonexistant the past few years. Sure, most of us loved the way, but I think we agree that it is time for a change. It's nothing to be mad at the park about and to be honest, I would have liked to see this happen two years ago when SOB opened. I think Phantom lasted almost as long as the original Enchanted Theatre, but even longer than the Smurfs. The grand dark ride still went out with a bang and I'm sure it's something we and PKI won't soon forget. I've heard rumors PKI wants to do a souvenir video, so hopefully it will pop in there somewhere.

way to go intamin guy! go straight for the jugular.what i want to know, is where was your bleeding heart for king cobra? yea, its tragic they closed PT. they prooly have a hard time replacing it to. but why would you stop going because one ride closed. theres beast, SOB, top gun(possibly one of the best suspended coasters) and lets not forget, the flyers.

P.S. how did CP screw up?

I have no problem with your decision, if a coaster enthusiast wants to give up all those great rides in "protest," go for it. Everyone else and I really do not care. Just don't be the first one to complain about what they receive in the future if it doesn't live up to your "standards." And you'll return.

Remember, they closed Phantom Theatre because they're putting in a replacement. They're not closing it for fun because they don't feel like running it any more just to piss you off.

Phatom's Theater was a great dark ride, and it will probably be missed be everyone that rode it - including me. I loved that ride and I went on it every single I went to Kings Island. Sure, the sets and animatronics were a little corny, but it was family ride; that can be expected, but it was a nice break from the more intense rides in the park. Even though this really good ride is gone, that doesn't mean PKI should close, or that it is ran by a bunch of idiots. If a park is going to stay competitive, it's needs to update it's rides in order to attract more guests and keep it's repeat guests.

I suppose that you would rather have a park stay exactly the same throughout it's entire lifetime. Well, you can dream, but it's not going to happen. Of course, if they did that, people would complain that nothing ever happens there. By the way, we wouldn't even have Phantom Theater if Paramount hadn't decided to change that certain building to a new dark ride every decade. I guess there's just no pleasing some people...

If he wants to stop going to PKI just to protest, all I could say is good luck. I would bet PKI or the rest of us will not even miss you. Heck, we probably won't even remember your name. Especially while riding PT replacement next year. ......Riding along hearing "Shoot that one".......
