I just fell in love

Yep, that's right. With Carousels. I was looking at this picture of the Carousel at Idlewild.

Anyways, I don't know much about them and have been searching for a good bit to find nice pictures of them, but there seems to be a lack of them! (Or I'm looking in all the wrong places). I did find this webpage and have been reading through it for quite some time.

But if anyone has any other good pages with information on carousels or if you have a picture of ANY carousel, you can post here, email me (coasterkid31@hotmail.com), or IM me (Unorthodokz1431).

I've already planned to go ride a 1950's Herschell Kiddie that's just a few minutes from my house tomorrow!

Thanks --
Charlie

They are truely an art form, and I feel a park has no soul if it has no carousel.

Not to brag too much, but I have a few pictures on my website. They include Knoebels, Kennywood, Seabreeze, Hersheypark, Weona, Glen Echo Park, and may others. I do have a dedicated gallery set up, but the parks all have their own pictures.

Enjoy.

Here is a linkhttp://travel.discovery.com/fansites/jrmia/goods/carousel.html to Travel Channels show "Made In America with John Ratzenberger". He recently did an episode about an Ohio-based company called Carousel Magic. His show is usually one of the better non-amusement park ones on TC.

They're showing the carousel episode on...

Saturday, August 13th @ 4:30pm

Sunday, August 28th @ 5:00pm

Now officially a Halloween Haunt Cornstalker for Fall '08! www.freewebs.com/chadmicah
Check out the National Carousel Assocation: www.nca-usa.org

A really neat feature is the Carousel Census (sort of an RCDB of carousels).
