I got the answer for the "glasses" policy at knotts.

Oddly enough, my experience has been that putting a cord on my glasses makes them *more* likely to come off, but that's SO counter-intuitive that I wouldn't expect anybody to understand it. And at least when the strap knocks them off, it also keeps them from going too far. 8-)

The particularly annoying thing about the rule on Pony Express was that there was no indication of it ANYWHERE until I was already secured in the train. At that point, there is no way they can give me my half hour back.

I would think that would depend on the type of glasses and the type of strap.
