I Got A Job At Dorney!!!

I was debating whether or not to get a job there or not, but last wednesday I made my decision as i sent my application through the mail. I had my interview for a Ride Attendant yesterday(thursday). I would have applied for Ride Operator, but i am only 17, 1 more year to go. My interview went smoothly and I am happy to announce that I will be working at ThunderHawk this spring/summer/fall. All the positions on the other coasters were already filled, but I am happy to be working at a 79 year old coaster! Just wanted to let you all know! And hope to see some of you this summer!

TALON rocks! Peace out!

That is cool! A coaster is a coaster so I'd be happy for any ride. JW, but what does a ride ATTEDENT do?

Have fun working there, I am gonna try getting a job at KBF doing whatever when the time comes.

Isnt it the people that close/check restraints. Oh and congrats I gotta get my self over to Dorney this year, and Talon.

Touch The Sky

Yep, that's correct. When he turns 18, he can "drive" the coaster. Until then, its bars and the height stick for him.

Looks like CB is well represented at Dorney this year. Alex and now DJ.

Congratulations...IMO, you will be working at the best ride at the park...Talon and Laser are great steel, but ThunderHawk has all that history, and a great ride....(esp. if you sit near the front)!

....you might wind up in heck if you can't love a Schmeck....

alright all you Dorney employees - what's the deal on Steel Force? I got one ride near the back of the train (single-training the nite before PPP). After looking at the coaster, I expected good air due to all the nice hills. It was soon after the 4pm opening, so it may have been a little sluggish...but it was warm out. Just wondering if 1) I caught it on a bad day, 2) did I ride in the wrong seat...I've since been told it's more of a front-seat coaster, or 3) does the coaster take a little while to warm up. Or is it something else....

Most people seem to think more highly of SF than I did, and I just want to get an idea of how to get a better ride next time...

Oh, and while your posts probably aren't being "monitored" by your employers, just realize that you are a representative for your park and your company as well as yourself, and there's almost always a "nice way" to say even a bad thing...;). Helpful hints from the "older crowd"...LOL.

Thats great! Have a good time working at the park...thats gatta be an exciting job to work with.. even thou ur only checking lapbars etc its still great top be working with a rollercoaster.. I hope to maybe work at a park next summer.
That is probably one of the best summer jobs. Much props to you for getting that position. I hope you have a good season.
steel force doenst have great air time but is is decent...its diffiently a front seat coaster...however it does run better after it running for a while....i have run this ride and notice the cycle lenghts get better as it runs longer....temperture also effects the ride....and so dose Bblock-the breaks right before the camelbacks, this is the section with the best air...if the trains slow too much at the breaks the rest of the ride is lame...the trains have gotten veryclose to getting stcuk in the camelbacks after break pressusre problems...

Congrats from the San Diego branch of the Cedar Fair Alumni Association!

Turn them off is what I say! Let the ride run to its fullest potential. I hope they are off for the enthusaist event.

Thanks, NCW...hoping to get at least a better ride next time, definitely the most disappointing ride I've had on any hyper...

CM, we got about a dozen (or so) spins on Medusa East totally brakeless at SpringCon...gotta say corkscrews are at their best when taken really fast, like that night, or really slow, like PKI's Vortex...:)
