Hypercoasters at Six Flags parks

In the Six Flags chain, there are what I would call four “flagship” parks: SFMM (west), SfoT (south), SFGAm (midwest), and SFGAdv (east). At these parks, the hypercoasters were built by either B&M or Giovanola. At the up and coming parks -- SFA, SFNE, and SFDL -- the manufacturer was Intamin. Do you think there is a reason for this, or is it just coincidence? Do certain manufacturers bring a little more “prestige” with them?

(This is in no way a slam towards Intamin – I’ve ridden several of their coasters and loved them all.)
I would say that price and attendance at each park plays a big factor in who gets what coaster. I think all designers have their good example of Hypercoasters though. My favorite is SFGAdv, and I am very anxious to Ride Nitro
well SFMW is suspected to recieve a hyper or speed coaster if so maybe that would break the pattern.
It'd be hard for SFMW to receive a hyper due to the height restrictions on the park.

You build it, I'll ride it...eventually
So... Does this mean SFWOA would be in line for an Intamin? Not bad, not bad. ;)

God I HOPE SFWoA gets an Intamin, but I "fear" they'll get a Giovanola. I mean, I think SFWoA is going to start getting 3 train coasters (BKF and now X-F) and an Intamin will look extremely similar to MF. A Gio could provide 3-train operation and be 100% unique to the area.

Millennium is spelled with two N's ;)
What are you talking about "prestidge"?? Intamin hypers are way, way better than anything B&M can come up with. Look at the success of SFNE's SROS. #1 coaster! And let's not forget MF either. Also, look how Intamin designed those awesome trains and elevator lift system. They are probably the best hyper designers out there, without a doubt. *** This post was edited by SROS221 on 2/22/2001. ***

I would have to say the quality of Intamin is a lot higher than B&M and way more than Giovanola. I don't know why certain companies were picked but I would have an Intamin over those two.

Best Coaster: Millennium Force
Worst Coaster: Project Stealth

I would personally put in one of each....No park has 3 hypercoasters yet. And each of those companies rides are very unique in the sensations that one feels on the rides.

Have you ridden Golaith? Giovanola is a relative newcomer to the Hyper business. I would say since Goliath is Gio's first attempt at a hyper, it is an INCREDIBLY high quality ride, on par with Intamin in every way.

Ride first, slam later.
