Hydra's Jo Jo complete

From looking at DP's webcam today the Jo Jo roll has been completed. Looks like this certainly going to be one of the top rides to open in 2005!

wtf is a jo jo roll?

This is the guy, behind the guy, behind the guy
It is the first inversion out of the station for Hydra. It is basically a Zero G roll but renamed for this specific coaster. *** Edited 10/26/2004 8:12:15 PM UTC by Trick Track***
really?? huh.

any closeup pics of it?

There is a good view of it in the animation that was made for this coaster.
You can go to Dorneys website and download a video of it going through the Jo Jo roll as well as look at a couple of their wallpappers that have the Jo Jo in it. As far as a real picture I have not seen any yet. Probably this weekend will bring some after people visit the park.

That thing is really going up fast!

I wonder if Cedar Fair is trying to avoid winter construction all together

Yes they are building it fast. It is very unusual for a Seasonal Cedar Fair park to have a new ride almost complete before the end of the season.
Holy crap, I had no idea it was going up that fast. That's unreal!
UH OH Medusa's new competition is now rising. This new floorless IMO marks the second generation of B&M floorless coasters in terms of layout. We will most likely see more coasters like this with more unique elements.

"wtf is a jo jo roll?"

Something Terry Bradshaw used to do before the divorce years ago? ;)

^^ *joke flies right over my head since I'm a Philly guy*

Haha no I'm not giving Patrick the finger

ugh lol
boblogone,
The story is that one of Dorney's VP's or Mgr's suggested a pre-lift inversion be included in the ride, so the element was named after him.

BigJim,
Terry Bradshaw was once married to a professional ice skater named Jo Jo Starbuck. (I saw her at the Hershey Arena way back when) Has the light bulb gone on yet?

I refuse to call it a "jojo roll." It's an inline twist.

My blog You said, "I'm gonna run you down." I heard, "I'm an orangutan."
a jojo roll is zero g roll, aka. barrell roll, aka. inline twist

Once You Feel the Force You Will never Be The Same
Yeah, I'm with Den. Isn't Jo Jo an 11 year old on TRL? WOOOO!!!!!! Zing.

Down is the new up.

Dorney has updated their website with pics from 10/28 that show the completed JoJo roll up close as well as one of the station where the floor platforms have been installed. Enjoy...

If you can't stand the heights, get out of the line.

Wooo, that is going to be my #100 coaster! I just need 7 more! Add in the rides from dollywood, the new one at hershey and its boomerang I never rode, hydra will be 100!

Hopefully that goes as planned however ;)

Looks like PURE BLISS. *drool* *** Edited 10/29/2004 2:44:25 AM UTC by SteveWoA***

I would laugh really really hard if there were a miscalculation and the train didn't actually make it through the JoJo. Call it "played too much RCT" syndrome.

Hobbes: "What's the point of attaching a number to everything you do?"
Calvin: "If your numbers go up, it means you're having more fun."
